The receptionist holding you hostage in conversation; chatting absolute shit is unintentionally both the most genuinely scary and hilarious thing about the whole scenario, a psychological torture usually reserved for real life
As I am now, and every other night. It's not creepy I swear 🙈 sometimes I fall asleep to his streams and dream I'm in the horror game he's playing, with his voice narrating lolllll
@@inferno1730 - Yeah, I really wish he had more subs, as he deserves them. He's so chill, makes us laugh, and provides quality content, without the need to be an over the top screaming idiot.
Yes, taking care of an elderly person who is disabled is very draining energy and thoughts especially if you see his family who do not seem to care about him. Thank you Chris you play it well, i like it
I love the cozy vibe you get from Chilla's games. It's the same kinda feel as some of the classic J-horror films and makes me want to curl up with some tea. Plus, CJU just has the *voice* for them.
The beginning is almost a play-by-play of the beginning of The Grudge! Fantastic game. Red thread also symbolizes fate/love/marriage or two lovers destined to meet.
Cj...you are really at it today. I have NEVER laughed so hard from your comments before...omg someone get me my inhaler... 😂😂😂 "He lives so close that if Souichi-san's family yells loud enough, I am sure I can give medical advice from the parking lot. I have good arm too, I could throw him some opioids too" And the paper clip too!!! I am in tears from laughing so hard...
Definitely a slow burn, but the atmosphere and CJU's commentary kept me engaged. And what a generous long time he gave us to chill and soak in that good CJU vibe! Thanks--I needed to relax. 😊
Chillas art is almost always a slow burn. Still I much prefer a slow burn over wham bam thank you ma'am any day lol. Hope you're having a great day :0)... I'll leave you to soak 🙂
Ahh, yes. A video to end my hard day. Thanks! Also, if anyone's wondering, Souichi is pronounced "So-ichi". Quite confusing if spelled like that, but I guess the developers just translated Hiragana into alphabet one to one.
Nice! Also, not "if" but when you reach 100k...can we please have some merch to buy? Even if it just says CJU? I want to represent my love for this channel and all your hard work! Think about it.😁😘👍
I worked in home care for a while, and then I worked as a rehabilitation therapist with adult social services. Now I do something similar, but anyways dude! the stories I could tell you, I think there is like 200 horror games in there. I have more than once encountered some straight up creepy shit - not human sacrifice ofc, but like we had this man we were supposed to check in on, because neighbors complained about flies and such, and I had to wear a mask going in, because there were so many flies (he had used his bathtub as a toilet for a couple of years apparenty), and he had like a huge ww2 collection, uniforms, guns, hats whatever.. even his damn tablecloth was a swas")¤(&a - he creeped me the hell out. Or this other guy who refused to turn on any lights, he only had some tvs running, and all curtains for - He had some sort of altar looking thing, but it was so dark in there that you couldn't tell, and I think I might have watched too many horror movies - the worst was that he would block the door once you were inside. I mean he was a tormented person - it didn't exactly lower the creepyness factor tho.
@@AnxiousAlien... same happens to me too I fast forward thinking he'd die. I really feel like playing horror games but this shit doesn't let me get near it, players like Chris easily handle it and play without much of an anxiety but we even after watching starts shaking.
That's what I thought when the receptionist said Naomi didn't have an emotional response to patients dying. Not that she didn't care, but that's just sort of how you have to cope in that kind of work.
Yay! I really really love these longer videos! An hour and a half of Chris wit-isms makes any day better. 🙃 "I guess it wasn't the best tea I've ever made" 😆
I really love the style of these Chilla's Art games. Slow-burn, more spooky than "scary" (more psychological thrills than gore or disgust focused terror). Definitely my kind of horror. At least the ones I've seen. I think there's at least 1 I haven't seen yet.
I love that you're able to notice small things and find joy and amazement, despite having been exposed to hundreds and hundreds of games over the years (good or bad). 45:53 That little "beep bop" that you echoed after the pedestrian light reminded me of this and why I keep watching. :)
I work as a caregiver/DSP to a group home of people. It is an extremely taxing job and this game is definitely one of my paranoid fears. Very rewarding work, though. Love it all the same. Great playthrough. ❤️
@@jahsina when the grandpa was outside in the wheelchair. We've had that happen before where a client ended up outside when the other staff was supposed to watch them.
I'm really happy to see that you're walking faster in his games. that has been my main complaint with chilla's art stuff , like 20lb weights on each foot
True, it was the Tengu Karasu inside of Souichi we bathed. And also the Tengu Karasu(plural) are known for taking the form of holy men such as monks in order to trick people. So more than likely the monk was the Tengu Karasu too. And the monk actually said the same thing "You have a good soul" that the Tengu Karasu inside of Souichi said when he finally started talking.
Heyo! I've popped translation in my reply again for those who would like them. I have a feeling most of these will be contributions made by sponsors like in the previous Chilla's Art game.
Great game, and a fun playthrough to watch. Hearing the tension in your narration build certainly increased the intensity. This game grows on ya. Many Thanks Cheers
Perfect work of an indie artist. Amazing gameplay as well Chris, I've enjoyed your videos since the first time I've watched any "gameplays". Exceptional execution of the genre, truly, Chilla's Art is the definition of horror indie game mastermind. Loved the visuals, the tension filled environment and subtle, but blunt conversations. All and all, perfect. Very satisfying video.
"Now that you've had a cup of tea, let's talk." I felt spoken to and immedately felt like talking about what's wrong. I should book an appointment with my therapist :p
Niiiice a long video, fantastic! Thanks CJU! (Also, I was a nursing assistant for years and I agree with the game character- urine is the worst. I could tolerate the poo and the puke, but strong pee smell *still* makes me gag.)
I really, really liked this game. When I saw that you uploaded a 1hour video, thats makes my day better, today I was incapable of concentrated my self in anything. But this video helped me to finish what I had to finish today. Thanks!
You were as always so daredevil in these last part! The game was much of a slow path but I liked it. It really build up the atmosphere. Although this tea had to be horrible...
I forgot that in Japan, falling asleep on the job is actually sort of seen as a positive thing because they see it as you are working so hard that you get exhausted. This is unfortunately not the case in the USA. I used to get in trouble falling asleep at my desk even though I literally have narcolepsy. 🤷🏻♀️
The Japanese horror genre can freak you out in ways no other culture can. I like this game, no breadcrumb trails or stupid obvious icon prompts. Not much music or ambient noise needed. Hardly any interface for that matter lol. You’re left to build the tension all by yourself.
Man, if you could have seen my face when you were fleeing the Karasu Tengu. Lolol! The grandma was startling as well, especially when you would stop to look at her and she got uncomfortably close!!!
I love long videos because they are fun to watch but I also know that there nay not be a series and that makes me sad. Also, where exaclty is your avatar from?
I really enjoyed this one. You know you're on edge when you jump because you're air conditioning turns on. There were a few moments where it was difficult to see what was going on though. Ps. If you ever make a Patreon I'd become a patron in a heartbeat.
I liked this more than I thought I would, super creepy during the later parts. I thought you got a good ending as well but that's life, right? That house is huge, it took me awhile to get the layout. And total Grudge vibes! Great play through, Chris!
Hanako was definitely better, but this was pretty good. It certainly had its creepy moments, and it screamed "The Grudge" for a good part of the game. Thanks for the long video to entertain us, Chris.
I was so sure there was gonna be an alt ending of this where you find out Naomi was some sort of relative to the family, or something. I couldn't tell, all the way through, whether that stuff from the receptionist 'was' just a red herring, or not.
