Why do I feel nostalgia listening to a song I never heard before nor listened to

This genuinely made me a little depressed inside. You should see me in person. I'm one of the nicest people you'd meet. Some might say even too nice. But listening to this on repeat made me question my existence. It made me question what we are here for. It made me question everything. Thanks. This is different. I don't know how to feel. How should I feel? Sad? Joyous? I don't know. I don't think this is a good feeling. But I'll keep trying my best to keep my mood up.

ok, i know i'm kinda late to the party, but i wanted to share my own lyrics that i made for this song. it was kinda improvised so if it's not that good i apologize: 1st loop: “Heartaches, Heartaches My loving you meant only heartaches, your kiss was such a sacred thing to me, I can’t believe it’s just a burning memory! My dad was born in 1939, and my mom in 1946, and so I grew up with a lot of this music, even though I wasn't born until 1974. One thing I find amazing is how the brass and wind instruments almost sound like they're "singing" the lyrics without the need of a human voice to annunciate them. Powerful and full of emotion even without the lyrics, but adding the lyrics just adds another beautiful, sad layer. Even more so, when I look back on my grandmother, who, with my grandfather (whom I never met...he died in 1972 before I was born) were missionaries in the Philippines when the Japanese invaded during the war, I think of songs that might have anchored them and gave them hope that they would be rescued. Singing these songs to each other, even though they were separated into male and female camps, even mournful songs in one's own language could be a kind of love song. They may not, during their internment, even have remembered the lyrics, but they remembered the tune, and it carried them through. And then they were gone. I lost him in the 70's before I could meet him, and I lost her in the 90's when I was too young and self-absorbed to be interested in her and her life. And now, at the age of 49 with a family of my own, you guessed it. It's just a burning memory.

Nice, but these lyrics are taken directly from Al Bowlly's song "Heartaches", which is the actual version of It's Just a Burning Memory. IJaBM is a slightly slowed down version, without the lyrics. Maybe you should mention that you got these lyrics from his song, being that this IS the song he wrote, just slowed down. I like the idea of having the other songs with lyrics, though!

I think what makes this song so unique is that even though there’s no vocals, the background can still pump out the words in the song very clearly by the instruments, even when there’s nobody singing.

Only thing i remember is heartaches....

This always plays on my head at school, at lunch, at art lesson, at music, and every single lesson.. It has been around.. so many months and this is still playing in my head at class, maybe because school does feel like dementia for me. Suddenly I forget everything I have learned and all the lessons are just a burning memory.

Ok the most noticable thing for me here to relate it to dementia is, listen to how the melody just repeats over and over. There's no change besides the second verse, and we never get to hear anything else. I relate this to dementia by how they keep forgetting how many times they've played or sung that period in the song before eventually reaching a state of tiredness and lonelyness causing them to give up. Happy times 😀👍
