Max trying to dismantle his carrier. Right after I turned the camera off Max walked into the carrier on his own. We then took a walk around the yard. Sorry there isn't any video of the walk. But the photo for the video is from the yard.
If you watch videos of other cockatoos , they all have that low deep voice , and they all have the high pitched voice . It’s amazing , and they are all loud but endearing !!
If there ever is a Robot Apocalypse, Max could be the key to defeating the machines. Maybe he could sneak into their base, override their program with his robotic radio chant and then dismantle the dangerous ones.
Tia Mia I've seen cockatoos dismantle cages. One unscrewed every nut and bolt, another found a piece of metal and used it to file through the bars of his cage. They're smarter than most people
Yes. Very interesting habbit. I wonder if there is more involved into it as it is not always tapping but also creating sounds with his beek (on objects) or by directly using objects like bells. Is it too much to see here the very very first step in the evolution of "music"?
So funny how he mumbles back to you. I am not sure why I am hooked on watching you both...I understand almost nothing of what he says and you rarely show or talk about yourself. It is oddly entertaining.

I've heard people say that birds can't have a back and forth conversation that they only repeat words or phrases they hear but after watching many bird videos I find it incredible that they seem capable of not only understanding what is being said but they reply to what the person is asking or telling them...vinny from marlene mchoen is incredible at showing that they truly understand!! Max's voice is exactly like when demonic entities try and communicate in horror films either through humans or old radios. I love birds but if I heard Max chatting while I was going to bed, I'd need a night light and a TV on.

Ørëø Súrprîsë I keep seeing this comment around and I don't know where you get your information from. A simple google search of cockatoo literally states "Cockatoos are a type of parrot". They're in the order Psittaciformes which is parrots. They're not in the family of birds labelled as "true parrots" but they are still parrots.

I love the carriers talks! Max would have that thing torn apart in a heartbeat if he had a chance lol. He is getting better from the first video you posted when he was going to the vet and hid under the table and talked like he was possessed lol Your conversations with him tickle me to death.
Hahaha! I love Max and his carrier! Be careful, Max! My cat recently swallowed a screw. I didn't even know it was on the floor and she was playing with it. I have it now and I call it my $2K screw because that's how much the surgery cost to remove it. 😑

Going for a walk in the yard with Daddy seems to be very tempting. When he is walking in on his own after a discussion and some checking, I'll estimate in about 2 or 3 years hell accept the harness. LOL
Max is trying to imitate the way that guy sounds, and he does. He has his tone. He has lost his cockatoo language because he has only been around humans. He doesn't know words obviously, but he knows what it sounds like. He makes noises when he is angry, defensive and to attract other birds. The louder or more elaborate he sounds in the bird world the more respected and attractive. It's just he thinks other birds sound like his human.

I love how he completely understands how the carrier is put together, not just with the nuts and bolts, but trying to separate the top from the bottom to dismantle it.

Such a precious little soul! I'm literally watching Max erveryday just to remind myself of being more kind in every second! He's an angel! Bless you for showing this baby so much love and kindness and i hope you'll ever find the strenght to deal with the bad parts (if there are any) like noise and mess, even if this beauty's voice could never pass for ,,noise". Max is just having Vietnam flashbacks. If you know what that carrier did to Max, his friends and family, his loved ones, you will cry and be very shocked even if you are an adult.
