Atlanta had an EXCLUSIVE Test Run of Cartoon Network during Christmas 1991 and the US East Coast first got Cartoon Network on February 7,1992. The First Nationwide Broadcast of Cartoon Network occurred Midnight on Friday October 2,1992.
Those are tape glitches, and those can happen for several reasons such as: 1) The tape being recorded on EP mode 2) Being over recorded several times on top of previous recordings 3) Being a copy from another tape (qualit loss by generation downgrading) 4) The tape has mold after several years being stored in a wet environment 5) The VCR player heads are dirt 6) The VCR was having issues tracking the tape at that particular part. In the end, the time base corrector tries so hard to keep a constant picture and makes all of that visible while being digitized.

I loved the "Syndicated Memories" Era of CN as much as I did "Cartoon Cartoons" era CN, I'm of that age group that caught the tail end of the 80s syndicated/SatAM boom so the classics a lot of of people in their mid-40s talk about I caught on the back swing through USA Network, CN, and very early Boomerang.
Unless something big happens to WarnerMedia/Turner like bankruptcy I don't think they'll ever end CN since it still gets high ratings (especially during the Adult Swim block)
@@CypherSonic yeah CN can still drive ratings even if those of us who are aged out now can't stand what they are showing on it (I mean that happens). It sucks but such is the march of time. (That and we have various other venues to pluck out the good content without having to wade through the mire of the bad)
Even for Warner Bros. Animation with Fox Kids and Kids' WB, Cartoon Network had Duck Dodgers in 2003 and Justice League/Unlimited. Even Teen Titans(2003-2006), It should have been on Kids' WB, since July 2003.
During the launch, Cartoon Network focused on more old and classic cartoons from Hanna-Barbera, MGM and Warner Bros. until the mid-90s, Cartoon Network began its own CN originals (under the "Cartoon Cartoons" banner).
I'm proud that i grow up with Cartoon Network since the early 2000s. They have some ups and downs recently, but one thing is pretty clear, CN is spectacular that defined what true cartoon animation is for many generations.
Its amazing that even though I have a very very vauge memory of seeing this as a 4 or 5 year old back in 92, I didnt remember alot of the cartoons that must not have run on for much longer. I dont recall Adam Ant being part of Secret Squirrel at all! It was interesting to see this, and to think of how its evolved now, what with Adult Swim and everything else.
I love this era.. I collect all cartoon network items like glass, t-shirt, poster, plate, and many more.. I love Yogi Bear and all Treasure Hunt Members, Wacky Races, The Jetsons, & Scooby Doo Where Are You

Cartoon Network is the USA’s first 24 hour kids TV channel until TNT took it from 9:00 to 1:00. In around the end of the 90’s, TNT went out. And in 2001, [adult swim] ruined it, but slightly extended the time from 9:00 - 6:00.
I loved Cartoon Network for it massive selection of classics from Hanna-Barbera, MGM and the older Looney Tunes but also taken risks with original content then but now it's mostly preschool schlock and Rick & Morty.
I first watched Cartoon Network in 1994. I kinda remember this layout, at the time around the end of that first era segment. Then, it was on to What A Cartoon Show and World Premiere Toons. That is what really made Cartoon Network explode into what was known as the Powerhouse Era, or what I call, The Golden Era.
Cartoon Network will most likely do a Teen Titans Go marathon because it is the only show they care about. That is sad, since Teen Titans Go is Cartoon Network's worst show.
So glad I loved to see the good days of Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon… these kids these days think this stuff nowadays on these two stations is awesome.. they have NO idea.

i cant even remember when i first watched cartoon network. maybe it was during the launch. maybe a while after. i dunno. all i know is i have a lifetime of childhood memories and cartoon network to thank for it.

Truth Bomb: CN started as a dumping ground for Ted Turner to monetize his back catalog of Cartoons for cheap. For years they didn't give a crap beyond easy money with the stuff they owned or licensing inexpensive stuff. It wasn't until Fred Siebert of Federator Studio got "What A Cartoon!" onto the Network that leadership changed to actually want to develop originals and give independent animators a shot at getting their shows made.
I'd come home from school and turn to Cartoon Network and just watch the countdown for a couple of minutes before turning the TV to Nickelodeon. Thanks for the nostalgia.
