@@WakeyWakeyEggsandBakey It's this extreme narcisim paired with his being a chronic liar that are red flags that sooner or later he is bound to cause major trouble.
LMAO before I got to that part, I didn’t suspect he ran the fan page. So I felt bad because I thought a “girl” was fanning over a murderer. Come to find out she isn’t real it was him all along 🤠✋
“I know my sister was brutally murdered, but I think it’s important to mention that she said she looked up to me, and that I was more talented than her...” Bruh.
i knew the son was suspicious from how you described the murders, it was so brutal and seemed really personal, especially when you mentioned the jumper covered over the sister’s face. such a vile attack
Covering the face is common when the killer knows the person :/ why would a robber want her face covered? He couldn't look at what he did to her. Also women seem to do this too so know them personally or a woman? I heard these facts because I watch a lot of true crime
The way he threw in "my sister said i was more talented than her & that she looked up to me" at the press conference. Like some final dig at her for not keeping his secret
I could not stop laughing when he started singing his parents were right to tell him to focus on his studies because that music career is not going anywhere🤣
@@jean-luceyesofyoureyes5502 YES, this. In GOT I had no serious issue suspending disbelief for dragons and magical zombies, but the part about Podrick being such a virgin sexual savant that Tyrion got a refund was a bridge too far.
@@Bambammbi I have weird feelings like that like as if something was gonna happen I was scared One day that something was gonna happen to my friend so when she left school that day I huggged her and told her to be careful and she said I’ll be fine see you tomorrow and I never saw her again she got in a car accident and I found out the next day that she was gone after school when she didn’t come to school and It was so depressing for weeks and later that week her sister told me that she said when she got in the car that she died in she said she felt weird be careful driving pls sissy and 15 mins later they crashed all bc of someone who was stupid I wish she was still here with me and the fact that the day she died in school I kinda irritated her and I totally regretted that I was very brave for sharing this story I hope you have a great rest of your day or night

I’m just a little annoyed at the aunt, because she felt like something weird was happening, and thats why she didn’t go in the house, yet she didn’t call the police, or family, or someone. I think she could have done something and maybe it would’ve saved someone’s life🥺
@@paola5880 honestly yes i did think that too, im glad she sensed something and got away but it shouldnt have stopped her from notifying someone about cause it couldve saved their lives :( always listen to your gut instincts but let others know too!!
If Sef would have died that day when the hotel came down, they would still be alive. It’s crazy to think that one decision could potentially be your demise. So sad.
Gosh... how tragic. This case sounds so much like Jennifer Pan's case. She murdered her whole family too and they had similar backgrounds with Sef Gonzales, her parents were strict and they didn't let her do what she wanted, so she falsified her grades/studies but got found out and murdered them. I will never understand how someone can do stuff like this to their own family. I'm so glad he was a terrible liar.
"Strict parents" because they wanted him to do well in school and bought him a car and gave him an allowance. Just Wow, his parents and sister deserved better.
exactlyyy if he didnt want to do what they wanted him to just LEAVE??? like why does he think he in entitiled to their money and house?? like if his "music career" was doing well just leave and do that then wtf this reminds me of jennifer pan the exactly same situation like as an asian i just cant relate...
They were trying to force him to do something he didn’t want to do in life that’s a difference between that and wanting your child to do well in school.
tbh i think it was the least sus things he did. making a fake fan page to prove to his parents that his music career might actually take off, is pretty understandable for a narcissistic pathological liar
the attitude of the house’s new owners is actually really nice, i feel like most people who own homes where high profile murders were committed are like “ooooh spooOoOky!” but their mindset that the Gonzalez’s would’ve been happy knowing a happy family moved in is pretty cool
I was dying 💀 at the part where he told police that the sex worker would NOT let him pay because the sex was TOO good!! 😄 🤦 Just that statement alone should have been enough to wrap up the investigation!! 😂 🤣
This dude was a serious idiot.. So police are supposed to believe that he was so disoriented from being hit over the head, to the point of not even remembering his own name but he conveniently remembers specifically how he was attacked?!? 🤦♀️ Seriously, what a Loser 🙄
@@jasminericee then that's much worst then... It's not the dad nor God's fault that the son became a demon... It's still people's choice and obviously the son just wanted to become a demon instead of showing his gratitude when his father saved his life
Can't imagine the look on the parents' & sister's faces when they see who's murdering them. This is why you shouldn't spoil kids too much. They'll grow up thinking the world owe them.
EXACTLY! 💯 I always say in these cases that there comes a certain sense of humbleness and responsibility when you have to work hard for what you want in life like average people. Rich people that gets everything on a platter tend to lose their minds and want to create their own troubles.
Especially because the sister just wanted to pay him back for ruining her relationship. She got brutalised the most just for the payback he deserved. I don't understand it.
i think you have the wrong perspective of it - it’s not about ‘spoiling’ kids too much, I’d say it’s more that they overly controlled him. they literally threatened to disown him and cut him off financially if he didn’t be the exact person THEY wanted him to be, even though he is his own person and should be able to decide what he wanted to do with his own life. all because they didn’t want him to be happy or to pursue something that made him happy, but rather just to be successful and wealthy; they put material wealth way above love and emotional needs n totally ignored those which is never a good thing.
I came away from this video with two realisations: 1. The parents suspected everyone else of being a bad influence on their children. Turns out, their own son didn't need any help leading himself astray. 2. A lot of Sef's life choices didn't seem so bright that I wonder why his parents thought he would be able to hack med school.
Plot twist: as a neuropsychologist I wonder is there a chance that when he was stuck under the rubble following the hotel collapse, that he sustained a head injury, causing him to have some brain abnormalities and become narcissistic with tendency to murder. It’s possible but we can never be sure. Thought I’d share an alternate view.
That is such a great observation. Majority of the time in these true crime cases the murderer usually has had a head/brain injury which later leads them to what they do. I think this is definitely a possibility with the hotel collapsing on him!
Unrelated to the case at all: your dogs interacting and sometimes “teleporting” locations (bcuz of editing) is such a nice palette cleanser during these super spooky tales that you tell so well!!! Sometimes I get so engaged in the story that I’ll start to feel anxious myself and then I see one of your furbabes yawn in the background or cuddle together and I feel so safe, helps that your voice is super soothing as well!!
I've been watching Mystery Mondays since my freshman year of college and now I'm graduating in abt two weeks; I'm more excited for the 4 year anni of Mystery Monday than I am for graduation. This is one of the few things that helped me maintain composure in all that time. Thank you, Bella
This case reminds me of Jennifer Pan, the 24 year old Canadian who tried to kill her parents because they were really strict with her and she was going to get disowned, but wanted their inheritance. More often than not, when a whole family is murdered except for one person who happens to be left unharmed, that person did it.
And that South African guy, Van Breda I think was their name? While family brutally murdered with an axe while he had superficial wounds and was allowed to live... 🙄 Dunno about that one.
26:43 - 27:52 I always tell people to follow their gut feeling especially when it’s an uneasy feeling. she could have ended up, in the worst case scenario, dead as well. I’m so glad she listened to her intuition
Boyz II Men did NOT bless us with their entire catalog of music for it to be croaked out like that at a funeral... like, I ain't mean to bust out cackling like that, I wasn't ready
This actually happened near me, Teddy was pretty well known and admired in the local community. My friends older brother was friends with Sef. He said everyone felt sorry for him after the murders, but when he sung at the funeral, it felt very.....eerie. And from then, he distanced himself from Sef, he was kept giving out really weird vibes
@@biancafelton6087 its was my friends brother, but from what i understand, the singing was very misplaced and uncomfortable. It was straight after his eulogies (which he somehow kept relating to himself), then started singing, almost like a performance for the audience. Just the whole vibe of the funeral was geared more about him being alone than about celebrating the life of his family
When I heard "she always said I was more talented than her" a red flag went flying. Growing up my mother was a narcissist. She tried to find somebody to kill my dad one night but nobody took her serious because she was such a compulsive liar and our community just ignores her a family friend who had been there informed us what she was doing. She thought she was an amazing singer as well and lied about how she went on tour with bands in the 70s and 80s. All lies. Narcissists are a nightmare.
I thought this story was going to be the girl who made the fanpage killed the entire family. but once you said seth was the only living family member i knew it was him
Allegedly he was upset at his parents for discouraging his singing career and forcing him into law. After hearing his singing, I side with the parents.
Just like to say how nice it is to see doggos treated so well...inside and on the bed...just as they should be!!! Well done...i watch as much to see the beautiful dogs.
One thing I've learned from all the true crime I've watched is if a whole family is murdered except for one person that person did it. As soon as Bella said he found his whole family dead I was like: he did it. Also his parents don't sound that strict he sounds like a spoiled brat. Like the whole thing about privileges is they get taken away when you don't act right. That's just called parenting.
I remember watching an interview. When a man was asked how he handle his children. He answered " consider them like you pick a handful of rice. Don't be too tight or too loose in holding it or else it will spill". I comdemned the killing. I would never agree to it. How can you kill the person who gave you life. However I'm a son too..In my perspective. Money can't buy happiness. I would appreciate if my parents would give me money and material things one could wish for.. But I appreciate my parents more because they don't pressure me in doing something I don't like. They would asked me what I want in life and give advised if needed.. Some people can't handle pressure and rejection at the same time and they usually snap. Being strict won't always have a good result. Take this as an example where it ends up in tragedy. Sometimes parents should let their children breath on their own, make choices of their own and have them learn from their mistakes. We parents should be a guide towards a good path not a dictator.
Thank you so much for sharing. I completely agree 100%. I have taken a class in adolescent development and kids do well with authoritative parenting with the balance of being warm and firm. These parents sound too controlling for me and pushed their son too hard or rather in a direction wrong for him. What if they encouraged him to study a music degree at school? So what if he wouldn't quite have the same stability in his career. He could figure it out as he goes and at least he would be happy and they would have a chance of all being alive. Also this no dating rule sounds like too much as well. Too controlling. They also spoiled their kids too much with the car and luxuries and used it as leverage over their kids to control their behavior which is not right. However, I am not Asian but I think something has to change. What the son did was unthinkable but at some point you have to think of the parent's role. I am using this as an example to treat my kids differently than they did.
can’t believe it’s been 4 years since i’ve been watching you!! i was 15 when i fist discovered your mystery monday vids and now i’m 19 and haven’t missed a single one!
that’s a really mean thing to say lmao like i’m a teenage girl who’s been watching a youtube for years? what’s creepy about that. you’re creepy for even thinking there’s anything wrong w that
This seems to be a reoccurring thing for Asian families. Strict Asian parents actually end up making their children hate and resent them 😪 Seth is a psychopath though and he didn’t have any remorse or guilt which makes it even worse
Sef definitely had built up rage over the years. I'm not saying this to justify the murders in any way, but there are a lot of ineffective parenting strategies out there.
The moment Sef started singing, I went yep he's Filipino all right. Also, to answer your question as to why it's weird not to send the shoe box along with the shoes, it's pretty much to save space. Boxes in general take up too much space when you can still shove in more stuff to send back home. Plus, it also deters corrupt customs officials from recognizing the label of a product and swooping in to either steal it or give an excuse to slap you with a hefty "fine" that they'll generously drop if you slip some money their way. I still do this to my own purchases when I travel abroad because customs officials are sharks in third world countries. And happy 4 years!
@@gurvirj479I'll admit, I dont buy expensive branded shoes for myself or anyone else. I too refuse the boxes cos I dont keep my shoes in boxes at home and will throw the box away anyway.
This entire case angers me so much. The whole “tiger parents” is something I understand, but I will never understand murdering your family because of it. I’ve had issues with my parents being Filipina as well, but I would never even THINK of hurting them // The one thing I have to add is that not putting the box when sending shoes to the Philippines is a thing we do (for most Filipinos abroad). The box takes too much space when sending things - the more space we have, the better 😊
Like, no angry driver with road rage is going to be angry enough to stalk an entire family to their home, wait for hours for them to return, and brutally murder them. It just seems a little extra for what's ultimately a minor annoyance.
ah yes, filipino parents. it is really normal for filo parents too be absolutely strict (unfortunately) and would ignore their child's passion , rather force them into a job where they earn a bigger amount of money. but what he did to his parents is absolutely cruel

Can you please do the Elisabeth fritzl case . It is so bizarre and there are so little videos on it and all of them don’t go in depth on the dad or on her either . It’s a huge story
me in bed with an empty nike box bc i sent the shoes to my cousins in the Philippines without the box bc it would have taken up space in the lbc box 👁👄👁
Omg I thought this too, but it’s actually quite accurate my parents would take any tags or box so the shoes don’t look new went sent so they wouldn’t charge them more ... so that’s not a big deal .
As soon as I seen the “robbery” pictures I knew it was the son, he was in law school, he tried to make it look like a different crime than it actually was but the son was dumb enough just not to actually rob anything
This brought back memories of when this case was ongoing. It shocked us, Filipinos. The Baguio tragedy that caused them to move to Australia was one of the most unforgettable earthquakes I could remember. And it was a very sad thing when the Gonzaleses had to leave their hometown so they could start anew. This was really such a heartbreaking thing not just for the family and their kin and friends, but for the whole Philippines as well. By the way, I adore your series. Keep on.
