The black dial version of this was my only watch about 10 years ago (before I went down the watch rabbithole), and I loved it. Back then, I didn't know about the similarity with another brand. It cost me £30 - still probably the best value watch I've owned.
Bought this last week. I had to take out four links to fit my wrist. However, after sizing it, this is truly a gorgeous watch. The colour stands out so much when worn with a black shirt. I own a Rolex OP41, Tissot PRX etc and i'm glad i've added this to my collection.
@@backflipcreative3228 thank you. Forget any negatives some might say about it. It's truly a gorgeous watch. And it's getting a lot more wrist time than watches I own which are way more expensive than this one. I'm actually wearing it right now! 😚
I'm spanish speaker, and I have to say that TMWC is my favorite RU-vid Watch Channel in english!! You have pretty expensive pieces in your collection, and you still enjoying Casios as well. That's lovely!
Your wife’s comments are spot on. I’ve always thought a fluted bezel makes a great watch look like something your grandpa in the old folks home would wear!
I may be in the minority, but I freaking love this. I love Casio, and I love quartz analog watches. I think the color would make it stand out from every other watch in my collection. I do agree that it being a trend is kinda cheesy, but none of those other watches were ever on my radar due to the price.
I agree. I have this on notify me when available for the last few months. I got 1 notification, and by the time I clicked buy, it was sold out. Just thought it would be a great summer watch. Those much more expensive Tsuyosas in that mango colour is also on my radar BUT at $600 here I'd rather this casio and then put the extra $550 towards a grail watch down the road.
I think it’s at a price where it’s fine to be a trend watch my friend! It fills a purpose that’s for sure! I’m surprised about the brass case for sure! That’s a poor move
Do you love it because it's cheap or do you truly love it? It's a hot mess imo. But hey, the internet is the ultimate disagreeable engine and we're keeping the boiler stoked!
I really like the blue. I have the same watch in gold and polish tone with white dial with gold indexes and all polish with black dial and gold indices and I think that for an affordable dress watch they're really cool. I get plenty of positive feedback from others as well.
It does look good on the wrist. and that's about it. I agree, they skimped on the materials, but it is still a quartz Casio and not expensive if you buy it retail. Thanks for the review.
I love my cheap Casio Wavecepter ani-digi with that same bracelet. My wife won't let me wear it to bed because she says it pulls out the hairs from her head.
The casio mtp 1302 has been out for many years. I found a video here on RU-vid from 2015 showing the white dial variant. It was just an analog casio that not many people were paying attention to back then. Over the years, I've often seen those white and black dial variants offered for around 29 quid on Amazon. At that price the brass case and hollow endlinks can be forgiven. Since they already had a datejust hommage in their range, all they had to do is paint the dial a different colour and add 50% to the price when the Tiffany craze kicked in. While most analog casios certainly aren't, this is a rare example of one that's now overrated. Can't blame them for it though.
It’s the fact it’s a popular model right now, the poor judgement on materials really stand out my friend and people are paying DOUBLE for this watch right now!?
Got mine today absolutely love it, makes a complete contrast with the rest of my tiny Collection and cannot wait to replace the flimsy bracelet with a jubilee bracelet! Any recommendations on where to source the bracelet? 😅
What sucks is that it’s now trendy to bash on this color so if you like the color you have to listen to a bunch of haters telling you you jumped on the bandwagon because you like a watch dial that’s turquoise or light blue… stupid. I get the point but when it becomes cool to slam on something because it’s coveted or popular, well, that is just stupid. The trend will go away and people won’t hype it anymore and then the haters will have to find something else popular to talk smack about. Brass case is a cheap corner cut (agreed) otherwise for $40 this is a handsome watch. Fortunately for me it’s not as popular in Anchorage Alaska and I have purchased two of them with no sweat to give as a gift and keep for myself. It ticks pretty loud… almost as noisy as a Timex or Swatch.
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR ah I have been watching man!! In terms of watch collection, a really nice change this year. Got my Aqua Terra 2503.50.00 and my 5600e G shock as "the beater"... very happy with those two
I managed to trade my MTP Blue (that I bought for retail) for two Duro’s (one Pepsi and one Starbucks), might be ones of the best deals I have ever done.
My black dial version hits the indices nicely but it’s been retired. I wear a vastly superior MTP, the 1377, which is steel, wr100 and has a legible day-date complication. Gold Roman numerals with lume on a black dial. And it’s cheaper!
The battery in my Casio Duro is very efficient. So maybe you have to wait for 5 years until it dies ... If you want to have a summer watch with this dial color that you don´t have to care about it is a good purchase. And the date window is as small and badly legible as it is at the Casio Duro.
I am surprised by the lack of quality. I just bought an Edifice EFB-108D-7AVCR for $89 dollars with a sapphire crystal and I love it! Can you review this one? It rocks.
Like you say from a distance it looks ok but I imagine once you get it in your hands it feels very cheap! It’s not for me to be honest! Thanks for the review
I hate the fact that tuqouise has been my favorite color since I was a kid and somehow everybody wants this color now. I have been trying yo get an OP fo over 1 year
I love this watch. Bought it couple months ago but with dark blue dial. It’s beautiful and still will be beautiful after the trend will flip. Also it has beautiful sunburst effect.
@@OchaFauzan01and the thing that these models are also made of brass not stainless steel so the same quality as this Tiffany model, people are hypocrites
Totally agree with what you say about this watch , but then yesterday after watching your review i was walking past a watch dealer and saw it in the window. Went in , took a look, really liked the watch and purchased it. Same price you paid. And yes the second hand, bang on every marker. Why can't other brands do this. I agree with your wife, maybe she should do some reviews, they'd be to the point and short.
Today I learned FOMO = Fear of Missing Out. Did you know that Johnny, the antagonist in the Karate Kid, developed a terrible Fear of Crane Kick? He was always yelling out the acronym.
Thank you another brilliant video I’ve got quite a few Casio’s in my collection I don’t think I will be getting one of these. Have you ever heard of a watch company called limit 1912 there cheap but really nice. Thanks from Ralph & Sheila
I'm a simple man, I see a colourful dial on a cheap watch from a decent brand, I buy it. I got this one in December. It also matches my phone which is a bonus.
I own one, I actually like the colour and when I no longer do oh well it'sssssss cheap! The bracelet came straight off yes it's garbage, nothing to really dislike for 45 notes and yep second hand hits all the markers to 👍
I was very tempted to buy one of the Tiffany Blue dial watches I was looking at the Citizen and Tissot PRX offerings but I didn’t pull the trigger for the same reason you stated in this video. I believe the Tiffany blue is a fad which will look out of fashion in a few years time and £300+ for a watch like that isn’t worth it. However if I was to buy a tiffany blue watch it would be the Casio at retail as atleast if it does go out of fashion £50 wouldn’t seem like too much of a waste of money
My wife said the only Tiffany blue I'm allowed to buy is something for her from Tiffany. In all honesty, this color isn't for me, and I too am over this color craze.
My regular ones came in stainless steel and black dial with crocodile pattern black strap. Gotta say it's beautiful and might as well start collecting watches to enrich my fountain pen collecting hobby.
Even if it did have a steel case, the only thing that would make me buy it would be a high-beat quartz. And I would too despite it costing more for the upgraded movement.
They could have saved a lot of time and just made a light blue Duro. It would have been a better case. And it would have scratched an itch at corporate. (Did they bring Mr. P in to consult?). 🌞
And while at it they could make the stainless case smaller ... Slap on a diving bezel, make the dial black and voila, what the masses have been waiting for the mini Duro. It would almost be a Tiffany datejust. 🌞
I said that before you said it was a good summer color:) I was going to say "wonderful summer color" but I think it actually works in all seasons. It's a nice color
Honestly love mine. My watch also hits the the markers every single time, i had ran away from quarts watches because im way to picky when the seconds hand doesn’t hit but now with this one i love it. Im going for the green dial next 😂
I'm brand new to watches. I came across a few watches featuring that colour on the dial and fell in love instantly, not knowing it's a trend based on an iconic watch from an iconic brand. The trend may die off but I think there'll be a good number of people who still rate that colour. Anyway, the vid seems to overlook one fact - taste is subjective - and gets at times pompous, judgy, and snobbish.
I own this watch. I bought it when it came out for $64 dollars with tax an shipping. Its a Great watch, but as soon as I got it I had a good jubilee bracelet eating for it. I didn't know it was brass....
this watch with color has been around since 2004. I'm not saying Rolex copied Casio but it's definitely not a model put out just to cash in on the trend, hence the fact threir production can't keep up. It took them by surprise
Chrome plated brass...Yuck. But given its so cheap it would make a great mod watch. Strip off the chrome plating and then let the brass age or even coat it with something to protect it. A nice strap and maybe even a custom logo to cover the casio stuff.
I think the "sandblasted" finish Timex i bought has a brass case. But it was about the same price with a nice leather NATO and is very niche so barely worn. This Casio seems to miss the mark for a keeper but maybe its their take on a one battery disposible fashion SWATCH
As a fellow video editor (I own a marketing agency), your videos are improving dramatically - much more tasteful use of the weird cutaways and better pacing. Really well done. You’ll be at 250k in no time, mate. 👍
I mean, if you like the color, why not. But if I were looking for that style now, I'd probably pay a bit more and get the Tsuyosa. One of the best things about Casio is that the hands actually do hit the markers as they're supposed to, even if it's a 100 dollars watch. Unlike my Timex Q Timex, which is almost double that price at retail. Yes, Timex, Casio can do that, and apparently you just can't, it's called quality control, and that's why I won't look at Timex again.
Maybe it's due to region pricing but in my country, Timex watches aren't what I consider to be affordable. The cheaper models can't beat Casio in any way at that price point. More expensive models like Timex Q Reissue is almost the same price as Orient Kanno.
Saw this in my local H Samuel window a couple of months back but resisted the urge. I better hurry up and unbox my Tissot PRX quartz that has been lying around for a few months before it goes out of fashion - to be fair to it though it's mint green, and not that confounded tiffany
Got mine. Changed the bracelet to a mesh (vanbanner branded) and i love it.hits the markers like u said.stupid trendy color but it is lovely and cheap. My teal Tsuyosa looks like a millionaires watch next to it. But its fun . A crappy fun tif watch😅
Got 1 last week was in the queue I was number 35,601 lol £43.35 get in with delivery and 10% I'd rather the case was stainless steel and happy to pay more
I would say for me I love the way it looks and at the moment love to wear the Tiffany blue to change up from my black or dark blue face dial. It’s one of these watches where it’s a nice change from time to time and if I break it I only paid 38 pounds so not the end of the world. Also please don’t spend more than 50£ on it not worth any more than that in my opinion
It's sad to see how Casio went from brass and SR batteries to steel and CR batteries in their MTP series back in the 2000s to 2010s and now went back to brass and SR batteries. Man, the MTP-1219A was the golden age of the series, now I realize it.
Save a bit more and get a prx, save a bit more again and get the powermatic 80, save £1100 and get the twelve by C.ward, the colour is nice although tissot and.c.ward call it ice blue i think and i also think the white dial in the c.ward range is much nicer than the others but as for the casio only one style will do and thats the original square face either the one we all wore in school or the g shock version , no other casio is worth the money in my opinion
I love Tiffany Blue... but the crazy hype and outrageous price gouging is too much. I'll wait till after the craze dies down before adding a Tiffany blue dial watch to my collection, when prices will be reasonable
Seems like this should’ve been made last summer when this color was huge. I don’t know, if I’m buying an homage which this clearly is, just spend a tad more and get something way better built…
