My guess with Casio’s alignment is they have been doing this for so long they have obviously found a way to quickly and accurately place the hands on the movement. I can guarantee that some engineer spent a lot of time figuring out the solution to perfect hand alignment.
I think it's working perfectly. Anyone who wants to pay big bucks for the latest, trendiest is able to do so. Everyone else has no need to spend big to get great watches. This hobby is the perfect place for unfettered capitalism, imo. ymmv. Cheers!
I purchased the black version of this watch about 6 months ago. I think I paid around $35.00 off of Amazon here in the US. I had no idea they made it in Tiffany Blue at the time, but I think I would have purchased the black one anyway. I’m pretty much over the Tiffany blue craze. It is a decent watch….at the $35.00 I paid for mine. Great video.
Casio has never disappointed... Always hitting the right boxes.. A tradition of Japanese products.. But like you said, the Tiffany dials are driving people crazy 🤪 hence the USD 260 instead of 80..!!its amazing what colors can do to a watch. Loving this earlier than usual upload schedule. Also, that Citizen from yesterdays video, that watch is simply gorgeous. Plus the high accuracy quartz, you NEVER have to set the time. It's the definition of set it and forget it. Also kind of reminded be of a Seiko SARB035 on steroids. Lots of steroids. Take care, my friend.
A fun little watch . According to Casio, the case is plated brass, to be honest, I'm not sure I'd want to pay 50 dollars for one, let alone 200 plus. People are getting a bit ridiculous over these goofy trends, 🤣
This brings back fond memories of the 1980s, when practically every mass-market watch company had their own Datejust clone with a quartz movement. I had a run of several of them, ranging from Seiko/Pulsar to Gruen. I noticed that, over the last couple of decades, that model had practically vanished from the low-cost market. Nice to see it back, although I must admit I'm puzzled by the appeal of "Tiffany" dials nowadays. To my mind, the green dial looks much nicer. But, if it’s a Tiffany Datejust lookalike you must have, this is as good an option as any, assuming they ever become available at MSRP.
I got excited for a moment! I checked my local Turkish website and found Casio MTP-XXXX however they were just with white, silver and black dial and were normally priced. No Tiffany. Great to see the seconds hand hitting every marker, so does my Mudmaster GG-1000, but my Tissot PRX also hits NO markers!
I'm going to buy one, after they become readily available. Bought a Marlin last month, never thought I'd be enamored by a $50 watch, it's an incredible timepiece for the price. I'll be modding it soon.
Saw one in the display case at JCPENNEY and I just had to have it. Paid MSRP but I don't care, I love it! It's hard enough to find online for under $200, let alone in person and for MSRP. I just wanted it.

Nice review. I have a similar bracelet from the MDV-106D. It's less than wonderful. A lot less, if I'm to be honest but it should stand up to gentle use on a watch like this just fine.
Perks of living in a small town, popped by the mall yesterday and there was one of these beauts in the display windows of the jewelry store. Super happy with my purchase, but yeah, it looks like a 50 dollar watch, don't pay over retail for it.
I bought mine back in December for $45 US. It was imported from Spain. I replaced the bracelet with a nice mesh. It also looks great on a light gray alligator.
I reckon this - for its market price - is actually the perfect tiffany blue watch: a cheap fun watch for a couple of summer weeks. You can then store it, pick it up after a year and it will still work just fine. I’d buy one, if it was available.
I have lucked out a couple of times in the past year where I have purchased a watch, then only a few days after, the price doubled and was out of stock for an insane amount of time. The watches were far from luxury. They were nice watches and I really like them, but I never understood the sudden price jump or lack of availability. It is a little tempting to sell them for a profit, but that's not why I bought the watches! I buy them to wear and enjoy! The market is so confusing at times!
I was planning on buying this Casio when it first debuted to check off a box in my watch collection, but I waited because I thought I’d get the Mint 40mm Tissot PRX. I ended up getting the silver-gold dial PRX instead, and the Casio was already popular and sold out only 2 weeks later. You snooze you lose 😅
Seiko (among others) is guilty of this too. If you look at a particular watch model, a better looking colorway can be hundreds of dollars more than a more standard color, for literally the exact same movement and materials. Also, I watched a Tag Heuer review by Random Rob. That 2000 USD watch didn't hit the markers and seemed to have more bounce in the seconds hand.

Weird. I found my silver/ gold version today and tried it on and decided to get it working again with a battery. Bought it second hand/ brand new with stickers for $30. Ended up liking how it looked on me so much that I put my Seiko 5 sports up for sale.
For the accessory fans these are great. For watch fans they are just ok. Depends on your needs but someone could have a bunch of these 'nice looking' cheapies in different colors and love it. I like wind up stuff but if you are not a watch g.. person then convenience makes these a buy as well.
I got mine from h-samuel...they seem to re-stock and sell out every Thursday Love mine the dial stands out so much on! The bracelet has a rattle but I wear watches tight
I was actually looking for this watch on eBay and shocked to see people reselling for $150+ American. I thought the same thing, it’s a cheap casio still why are people valuing it this much just because of the dial color. It looks nice but there are so many better options in this range
Saw tiffany and green ones sitting in my local H Samuel window - priced £43. TBH I was underwhelmed by them in the flesh... even at that price. You have to understand that the Irish are almost as stingy as the Scottish lol. And my tiffany Pagani OP automatic is of much higher quality anyway.... for just a few Pounds more.
As far as hitting the markers goes…Casio is making their own movements and putting them in their own watches. Bertucci use off the shelf Miyota and/or Ronda movements. I replaced a Ronda in a friends Bertucci for I think $11 if memory serves. They aren’t the highest quality movements. I did go to the trouble of aligning the seconds hand, but it still only managed to hit about half the markers. I’m assuming the Casio tolerances are higher compared to the Miyota and Ronda.
There's a white-dialled one with Arabic numerals for £30 quid on UK Amazon, with a Tiffany dial people are "offering" them for £203. You're getting close to the price of a Tiffany dial quartz Tissot PRX at that.
Yet to see anyone actually wearing a tiffany blue dial watch in the wild, so I think it is just the mass of budget collectors doing their thing and adding a 75th watch to their 'rotation'.
Every time I see the Tiffany color on a watch, it makes me think of the local pool in summer. Looks fine as a pool liner, but seems goofy on a watch face.
Have one on the way from UK ebay, paid 65 for it so not too much more than the pre order retail prices that are set to come back in stock around December time.... too long to wait.
This might be nitpicking, but that is not what people typically mean when they say 'Tiffany dial'. The phrase is usually used to describe a dial that is double signed - once by the manufacturer and once by Tiffany. This Casio has a 'Tiffany blue' dial - as in the color associated with Tiffany & Co. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a slightly different shade, because I'd imagine Tiffany trademarked that color so I don't think Casio can use the exact one. Don't know this for a fact though.
When I saw your headline I thought you might be talking about the Casio W86, which is not quite harder to buy than a Rolex, but seems to be rapidly fading from the marketplace, at least in the US.
Nice review! the only bad thing for this watch its the chrome plated case! on the back its writte stainless steel case back, it means chrome plated case, thats not good if its your everyday watch especially if you sweat often!
About 3 years ago or so Casio released the MTS-100 which retailed for 50 quid, featuring sapphire crystal, a not certified, but very sharply running quartz movement (mine does +2s per month) and, of course, rode links etc., but at least the clasp has a double pusher. And it's just stunningly beautiful. Bought it the day it was released, and if I correctly remember, it was out of stock after 2 days :D
Stainless steel back means it's a brass case. That's why the watch is $50. This is not a long lasting watch and will probably, depending of how much you wear it, have yellowed edges and chips before that battery change.
In Canada you're lucky if you can find a watch for sale at a store I mean any watch every time you want a certain model it's always unavailable because the guy in charge of buying watches who works at the store doesn't really know what's popular..... there's no way you're going to see this sitting in the Walmart with a $69 price tag on it
Through the camera it more mint green than Tiffany blue. Even though the price difference I would recommend the minty Traska Commuter instead. Soo much more watch for 3X the money.
That is a fairly thorough review for "just an unboxing video." Quartz without solar power is a pass from me even at $60. Datejust design also does nothing for me. I like the green dial, but don't like the datejust bezel.
LOL, I didn't/don't want the 'Tiffany' blue dial version, I bought the green dialed version and I just love it. Yes it's a good/great watch for the money, but don't pay the outrageous prices that many on line retailers are demanding for these watches. At the end of the day it's a Casio and will do what it does on the tin, etc?!
It is sold out every where. and Casio perfected the color. A month back it was selling for $200+ on ebay and that's why third party sellers charge $275. Not sure if casio will ever make it again. What makes it special is the color of the dial itself, As in Casio perfected it way better than Tissot PRX, Citizen Tsyosa, and many others who came out with so called "tiffany blue". Ice blue/Light blue/teal/ : NONE of those are tiffany blue. I see a lot of youtubers come out giving lectures and options on blue shade watches but the market definitely DO NOT want them. Even Tiffany watches these days has a shiny finish and not the raw Patek/Rolex version of the dial color.
I own a black and gilt dial with Roman numbers from the MTP range, incredible watch (better than the edifice in my opinion). But they are what they are, there is no need spending 100’s on one of these!
