The Castle is the most beautiful film ever made. It has all the right ingredients. It's warm without being cheesy, it's funny without being crass, and it's clever without being pretentious.

Such an unbelievably good movie. My Australian ex was so surprised that I got all the humour. Still watch it on a regular.

I'm Irish, but I think Aussie movies are the best. Funny and natural. Love this movie like a child. It was the first time I'd seen Bana (had never heard of Full Frontal), and I thought he'd be like this in real life. He blew me away in Chopper. Top bloke. Check out Noise, another great Melbourne flick. Bana's not in it, but it's very good. Up the aussies.

'If only she'd known the price of the luggage' - lol. Sunshine Tafe hairdressing - love it! One of the best movies ever made! My class actually got to study this in year 11, everyone spent the year quoting the whole thing - 'it's Mabo, it's the vibe...no, that's it, it's the vibe.' Best english class ever!

I remember studying this movie in year 12 (awesome!!) and everyone going round quoting pretty much the entire movie. I think the teachers just wanted to watch it over and over again :)

I watched this when I was eight years old. I was switching between channels out of sheer boredom. And then this came on, and I sat and watched it to see what it was like. I never knew I was going to sit through the whole film. And I was EIGHT YEARS OLD.

I had to watch this for Legal Studies. Best movie ever. I'm proud to be an Australian.

Hilarious movie. But it's quite insightful as well. "Ah, the serenity". It's the way you make it.

A lot of brilliant lines missing. 'you have friend, I have friend. My friend go to your house, put bomb under car, and blow you to fucking sky!' one of the best lines from the movie. Still, that has to be the best intro to any movie 'my name is Dale Kerrigan, and this is my story'

Because EVERY moment of this movie is a highlight...simple answer.

I saw a story on the ABC about Australian troops in Afghanistan and how they cope being so far from home and family... The first part of the Documentary, shows a sign at the front of the base greeting new come-saying "Welcome to Bonnie Doon" (or similar) Says it all really.

I can't believe Sophie Lee was in this movie, She was a star of The Bugs Bunny Show on Channel in the 90s, also that adult show host during the nights.

The motorbike helmet with the brake light is actually quiet a good fucking idea ! Surprised it hasn't been insisted by insurance companies already. There's no limit to safety especially on a motorcycle. 👍

I think my lungs and prostate stoped working around 2:37. After about 10 minutes of watching this on repeat, 99.7% of the brain cells in my brain were rendered incapacitated. I didn't actually start hemorrhaging tumors and pre-congealed blood until I realized that this was a high light real.

@MissGina1960 The humour translates, i caught some of it by chance the other night on tv, very very funny, and it's also nice to see a filmmaker create a story about a working class dad who has so much love for his family. All too often they focus on the negative.

The highlights reel is the entire movie!!

I've watched the American version of The Price Is Right with Drew Carey on Channel W on Foxtel and it is a lot different to the Australian version. The showcase is different, the losing music is different and the TPIR logo is different.
