I will compare the two versions, what have they done, the new special edition compared to the first version.
Castles of Burgundy is a legendary Board Game design created by Stefan Feld. In this 1-4 players tabletop experience, you will take on the role of an aristocrat controlling a small princedom. Trying to build a settlement with powerful castles, practice trades, exploit silver mines, and use the knowledge of travelers.
The is designed by Stefan Feld, it's for 1-4 players, it takes 70-120 min. and is for the ages 12+.

I absolutely don't understand why some people find the text on the backside that important. If they decided not to print any text on the card board hex tiles no one would ever have complained about its absence on the acrylic hex tiles. I love the acrylic tiles and after one play all functions were crystal clear. Just look at the illustrations, they are really well thought out (way more functional than the old ones but the old one are also pretty). From the Rules: 'Note: If you look closely you can see representations of the tile's abilities. For example, the church shows the colors of the mine, monastery, and castle tiles; the bank features two towers with silver roofs; and the castle shows a die.' Except for the Tower (why they didn't paint a banner/flag with a 4 on it?) all functions are well illustrated. The iconography on the yellow tiles is also good and faster to 'read' or understand than text with better overview.

Great video! I got this version and love it. The only knock is they didn't do anything for color blind gamers. Missed opportunity to put a little more variation between Red and Green on the player boards. I still give it a 10/10.

I didn't back it on kickstarter, bought it at an online shop, but there was a sticker on the wrapping where it said kickstarter, so I think it's a kickstarter version. But I think you'll get the same if you get the Special Edition.
