Great time to be into punk. I look back and at the time didn't realize I caught something special. Casualties, abc no rio, the unseen playing every month atleast ....so much fun. But..... we all become either indie kids or hc kids.
I met the Casualties once in 2005 and again in 2013 ish. Got to kick it with Jorge back stage. I was so drunk that I forgot what we spoke about but it was deep. They’ll (Jorge) will forever hold a place in my heart. No homo. It’s just the originals ya know
14:23 "we dont belong in the hardcore scene..." ahahah they were so fuckin great!! mid 90s were the years of all those hc machomen straight edge bullshit like heart crisis, floorpunch etc etc..but the casualties were fighting for the punx!! dont forget this thing when you call them poser or fashion punk!!!
vastowildbrothers Decades later I came to appreciate the "Homeboy Hardcore" they were referring to here. When I was a teenager from NJ taking the train to NYC to go see street punk shows in the mid 90's my opinion was much much different.
I wish I would of been there.. I would of only been 11 but was still listening to the casualties as a kid. Fashion street punk but such a fun band to see live. Real street punx criticize these dudes cuz they didn't live the life, I always did as a street kid/ drunk punk traveller.. But in retrospect who gives a shit.
what do you mean when you say "they didnt live the life"? punk life isnt only being an homeless...anyway they were the real thing...i can tell you for sure!!!
vastowildbrothers I was there too. The Casualties were the real deal. If it wasn't for the Casualties the entire NYC "street punk" scene of the 90's would never have existed.
XEREBRL there are no rules to punk; that defeats the purpose of punk. Anyone who says otherwise is a poser and doing it for style and a statement. The casualties were the epitome of punk in the 90s and early 2000s. Fuck em g. This is FOR THE PUNX!!!!!!
The punk rock chick on stage with the leather jacket and short mini skirt sure is good looking for a 90’s girl! Many 90’s girls weren’t that good looking as today’s girls! Sadly today’s girls listen to Ariana Grande,Nicki Minaj,Iggy Azelea, etc.
