Finally someone doing The Cat Empire. You literally cannot miss with any of their songs, and their live shows are absolutely joyous. High on my list of recommendations would "Steal The Light," "The Chariot," "One, Four, Five," or "Days Like These." But, like I said, you cannot go wrong. Awesome musos, brilliant vibes.

Agreed with all those suggestions. I went to their concert about half a year after the self titled album came out and I've never seen a band play with so much energy and have so much fun, best concert I've been too. And even though it didn't come out until the next album, they played "Two Shoes" live and it was the best song in the set

Omg please do more Cat Empire reactions, they are an absolutely remarkable band and they never got the recognition they deserved here in Australia. Harry James Angus - who was doing the singing in this one also has a solo career. His latest album, Struggle With Glory, really shows his range and talent, it's about stories from Greek mythology. I Saw Red, Child in the Dark and Paper Faces are all phenomenonal examples of Harrys' talent.

Yes!!!!! I’ve been waiting for The Cat Empire!!!! They are one of my favourite bands live, I’m very fortunate to have had many opportunities to see them live. Jumps on the decks killing it! The other vocalist Felix please check out one of his other projects, Spinafex Gum which is a Indigenous Girls Choir that is freaking amazing! There covet of Hotel California is dope

Cat Empire are incredible. And their albums are all distinctly different. Saw them 3 times in concert - from massive arena to local pub - always fantastic and full of energy

One of my sons loved The Cat empire - it was his favourite CD in the car. His favourite song was The Wine Song - he was about 2-3 years old at the time, jiving out to a song about getting blotto. (he is now 14).

Hans Riebl’s brother Max was a beautiful classically trained counter Tenor. Sadly he died earlier this year. He sang with Cat Empire a few times…

One year later, they have split, and morphed into something very very new.. 'Dope' Aircraft dope is a plasticised lacquer that is applied to fabric-covered aircraft.. How language evolves:)

If you really want a trip, watch Cat Empire's Like a Version of Hotel California, but singing in french(According to the band, none of them speak french, Harry learnt it for the version), it's bizarre but mesmorising.

I have their eye logo tattoed on my left inner forearm. Literally my favourite band on earth. Their song No Longer There, The Lost Song and The Wine song are great. Specifically the last 2 because they showcase Harry James Angus's vocals more.

@@GrandpaOCE Yeah a good song only a musical mind will truly understand. I'm from Melbourne so they are pretty much a staple of life here. Mostly because they do sooooo many free shows. I have seen them around 30+ times and paid for about 10 of those(in various states) They are really consistent and travel around changing their sound slightly with each project. Learning more as they go. Just a good musical experience all round with very little flaws

Mate, if you think this was good, listen to the studio recorded/album version. It'll blow your miiiiind. Edit - haven't heard this live version before but it doesn't surprise me at all that Harry sounds just as good singing this one live.

My favorite fact about The Cat Empire is that they wrote the team song for the newest team in the Aussie Rules football, the Greater Western Sydney Giants. No one asked them to, they just did it for fun and it stuck.

That’s not true. The band didn’t write the song, Harry Angus by himself did. And he wasn’t “directly” commissioned by the club, but he was asked to submit a song for the (AFL owned) club by an AFL employee. So much so was it organised that it was even arranged by the AFL that he meet with then club coach Kevin Sheedy to discuss how it should sound before writing and composing it. Facts matter. Don’t make things up and don’t throw mayo on things. It doesn’t make you look cool, just foolish.
