i love how when cats give birth, they're so overcome with mom hype and just say "yeah you're vaguely baby sized, ill take you too" to anything that comes their way
Mr. BlueMan! Ducks: * prentend to be surprised * I'm sure they already knew since they look different from their adoptive parent. Kinda like why you need to tell your kid they're adopted if you adopt internationally.
My cat caught wild baby rabbit, brought it in the house & set it in the cat food dish. She then walked off as if to let it eat. I took it back out in the woods.
Mike McGomer *Ducks show up with a live rat’s tail dangling from their beaks.* Former ducklings: “Mom we made dinner!!! Momma Cat: “Um, aren’t you guys forgetting something...” Former ducklings: “Oh, right.” *Ducklings proceed to corner the rat and peck it to death. * Momma Cat: *smiles*
When the cat was trying to herd the ducklings back to the nest just melted my heart! You can really see the bond the cat had formed with the ducklings. It's beautiful!
mom: meow yellow kittens: quack mom: no no, its "meow" yellow kittens: quock mom: no no no, its meeeooowwww yellow kittens: qeeoooccckk mom:.... close enough. now, when you see a mouse, use your claws to pin them down yellow kittens:.....
kong023 Parental care varies greatly between animals. Newly hatched baby turtles fend for themselves while ducklings depend on their parent for warmth, food, protection (even from their own species) and they will be led away from the nest at an early age.
How lovely is this! The couple spoke as though the cat isn't a pet because she didn't seem to have a name. I do hope she and her kittens are loved by the couple.
I watch this every day since I got sick and it just cheers me up and makes me feel hopeful again. I don't know why. Thanks Della. You're a very good girl.
Graham D Thank you for sharing this amazing video. It truly exemplifies the wonder of love, and it is a testament to the reality that "All Life Is One". Humans certainly have a great deal to learn from nature. This is the way of Oneness. __/I\__
Ducklings and some other birds will "imprint" on the first animal they see and act as though that is their mother. Apparently Delia the cat was the first animal they saw, and as the video mentioned, she had just given birth herself. The suckling ducks is something new, though. +10
Man...that was amazingly cute and heartwarming video....i cant...especially when the mother cat seems worried and put the ducklings back into the nest when they went out of it..
We got two ducklings and my Cat Alaska who is a male formed an attachment to them straight away, he really loves them. They are around 4months now they still love each other though they can bully him when they are hungry! He bravely protected them from a fox recently! shame i didn't film it.
Nothing surprises me with animals anymore. When my speckled Sussex hen lost her husband, she sat sadly in the shed on a gate for weeks. One day, I was stunned to see my goat patting the chicken with her face, stroking each side of the chicken gently with her cheeks. I watched for a good while, then ran sobbing to the house, saying. "I will never eat that goat!" How can I? I was the one who killed the little rooster.
@Siniestro Triggered. Dolphins rape a lot of fish Also the video even acknowledged that, had those ducklings come just a few hours before or after, the cat would've eat them. I mean, not to ruin the cuteness of this video, it certainly is sweet and adorable. But I wouldn't extend it so far as to say "natural animal instincts are love."
@Siniestro Triggered. Didn't say that either. They're not disgusting, they're not loving. Like humans, there's a wide variety even within a single species, and between species it gets even more difficult. As a whole though, I don't think much of a judgement can be passed either way. Some animals are loving. Some are disgusting. As a whole? Hard to say.
Puddy cats do can some pretty amazing things for sure. Just when we think we've got them figured out they throw the curve ball right by us. Good looking out puddy cat! 🐱
Nilas spasov I agree but keep I as natural as possible. The footage is so clear and the narration this is beautiful... the can all it,” All Things Odd”
there's videos on youtube of cats cheerfully accepting baby abandoned squirrels and raising them up as little cats, and several of the husky dog who adopted a little kitten and nursed it back to health now the mog thinks its a dog!
It's so interesting and heartening to see how she/he the cat loves the ducks even though they aren't related to her. Animals have souls, too! They can love just as well (if not better) than humans! We can learn a lot rom them.
+Johnnie Bassdrum "Now it could be argued that all of this only happened because it was a domestic situation with animals that were unusually close to each other. But there are other examples that suggest the mothering instinct is so strong, this can even happen in the wild" Then they moved onto a story about a Lioness and an Oryx. Happy now?
+Graham D hi frnd... ur video iz very nice. acually the whole world creatures understand the love. care n protectn. specially animals n birds hve much sens abt it tht who love n care to them.
I love how even when they allread yare independant you can still see the messed up tailfeather from where the cat drags them around probably when she is not happy with what they are doing.
I've actually seen a case where a cat who wasn't pregnant or had kittens, adopted a chicken that belonged to the man that rescued him as if to repay the man for his kindness, the cat started to look after the chicken as if it was his own and protected it from other animals. For this video to suggest that cats would never adopt other baby animals unless it was in that narrow window of time when they are suckling their young is actually very misleading. This sort of misinformation was what had blinded my eyes to the complex world of cats for most of my life.
Yes, they made too much of the hormones. The same behavior is even observed in BOY cats & dogs. They don't lactate, but they'll adopt small animals & inanimate objects as their babies. Look up "sneaky cat" here.
