my dad died a few weeks ago this song came to me a few minute after receiving the call to go to the hospital and i sang it most of the way there, dad was homesick for heaven he was the last of his immediate family including his twin brother and our mother

My daughter, niece & I went to their Reunion in NC that year. It was a Fabulous concert, as is always a hallmark of the mighty Cathedral Quartet! I just hope all this is recorded in future for generations to see, as I realize now this is in current time. Aha!!

You know back then the group had a solid sound. I went to the National Quartet Convention in Nashville Tennessee that year. They were great then especially with Kirk Talley singing tenor. You know that the Cathedral Quartet has always had a great sound. Oh by the way where is Kirk Talley at now? Anybody know?

Voice is shot, can’t sing anymore 😕. He works at a mall in Knoxville, TN selling suits.

@Svoon V It’s just hard to sing high as you get older. Can end up straining/damaging your vocal chords if you’re not careful. Same thing happened to Gerald Wolfe a couple years ago. His voice is shot for good. And it also happened to Danny Funderburk in his late 30’s. He can still sing a little, but nothing like he used to. So 3 of the Catherdrals’ ‘power singers’ blew out their voices. Kind of a sad thought.
