Just an FYI, you shouldn't fight fire from the top down. You should fight fire from the bottom up. Reason being is that if you don't fully extinguish fires on the lower levels they can grow and potentially cut your routes of escape. In a high rise fire, initial crews go to the floor below the fire to get a layout of the fire floor (floors will be almost alway laid out the same) then you go to the fire floor to initiate attack. Secondary crews come and do Search (floor above the fire and top floor are the floors searched because of fire and smoke) and you usually have crews doing stairway control and ventilation. Hiigh rise fires are a completely different ballgame that take LOTS of coordination and lots of work.
@Tennessee Country boy The guy probably said that you should clear the building from the top down, that way you don't have to push deeper into the fire as time goes on. I think Jeff misunderstood clearing the building with fighting the fire.
19:32 Who let the dogs out? Jeff... Jeff-Jeff... Jeff Jeff I don't know why but my brain was like "This is perfect" and now every time I hear that dog bark I think of it again!
You vent buildings from the roof because fire looks for air and when it does it’s bad so if you vent the roof it won’t blow up in your face if you try to get in from the bottom floor because it will already be vented
anyone who comments on this claiming to be a firefighter, just know that Alex was a volunteer firefighter for a number of years. I think I got that right.
Any fireman knows, there’s a big difference between volunteers and paid. Not to diss volunteers and some even have taken classes so their knowledge is up to par.
hi just a feedback from an experienced fire fighter if u were to save casualty while u have ur partners if I were u 1 save casualty and one fight fire so that to minimise fire spread and faster evac of casualty thn after saving casualty u can join him fighting fire. Try this method on the nxt video man
Yeah I’m in the actual fire fighter and since air rises smoke would go up in the building so would the fire. If you go from the top down if you extinguish one for him to go down to the next one the one above you would already be on fire again because the flames go up fires don’t go down so Whoever said that in the comments is just trying to get attention
Pretty cool that they have rosenbauer in the game. I'm actually a welder in the Wyoming Minnesota plant, we build some really cool trucks including the ones in this game.
What would be awesome is if you could change the nozzle to go from dumping water to misting the air etc. don’t you use a cone to beat back a back blast or flashover?
On the whole top down vs bottom floor up fighting. It depends on structure and level of the fire. Our guys here locally fight top down on most of the larger multi story fires. As the water from above will wash through the building and hit the fire below. Making the fire go out alot faster compared to fighting up and into a building.
Hey Jeff the last ATS video when the covenant transport truck passed you I work there and whoever made that mod did a great job even though it’s the old design
You may have been able to check and see if there were any FDC connections outside of the to pump water into the building due to the sprinkler system not working. And that may have activated the sprinkler system
I don't think the person claiming to be a firefigher that Jeff mentioned is a actual firefighter, you don't fight it from top down. I'm personally not a firefighter but I asked someone I know who is a Volunteer Firefighter and she even said you don't fight fire from the top down.
as a retired firefighter my cheif always told us if a room is not on fire to keep the doors closed so the fire will not spreed an cause more damage an that way the fire can not rap around you an trap you inside
And remember when u said u couldn’t see anything that’s how it is when we go into a building it can get pretty hot it gets up to 1700 degrees in the building so hot right now the smoke u can’t see through remember always stay low in the smoke always have the attack line if u go through the fire
General Q to anyone that has FFS: What is your sensitivity set to? Im finding that the default value is too sensitive when moving your head in driver cam while driving the firetruck.
