I was there this year and I really recommend you to visit Hebron and other biblical cities with a guided knowledgeable person. Its so much historical and matching the full history in Bible as it says and believe me you will feel a lot when you are personally there. I hope you will be able to visit one day.

Only Allah Aza wa jal knows where their buried but their most likely buried there. There was a story that a man went down into the cave and he heard a masculine voice saying something among the lines of “don’t go there the women are there for Allahs sake” he ran back up the mosque and told people. After the 6 day war a sheikh was made to go down there with Israeli soldiers because the soldiers were afraid of going blind and they think they saw the resting place of Prophet Ibrahim Alayhi salam

Also, the real tomb has a double cave entrance. And knowing God, there's no way he will allow modern man to use it as some type of idol worship place. The good thing is that the real tomb is still hidden from the idol worshippers!

Maybe it would be if they were actually worshipping the tombstone. But they're not. They are visiting and remembering a past loved one or ancestor. They are no more worshipping the rock there, than they are the grass under their feet there.
