My favorite thing about Family Matters is that you can NOT be a fan of Kendrick and still take the bars and angles Drake had for Kendrick and go directly to Google to see if what was said is true or not. - the kids playing at the park being the same shade line. - the you don't plant any Money Trees line is a great reference. Kendrick received a key to Compton in 2015 for being one of the biggest school fundraisers. - Kdot shits only hitting when Baby Keem puts his pen to it. 9:29 This was pretty much my main criticism of Family Matters. It was completely unnecessary and unneeded to go at them other dudes. Also this is just my opinion but that verses that actually were aimed at Kendrick weren’t that hard. To me it Asap Rocky was the one that got dissed the hardest on Family Matters. Which is sad considering the song is supposed to be a response to Kendrick.
The second verse was the best part of the whole song imo. There wasn't a lot directed at Kendrick but to them other guys Drake was sending out knockouts. If this was Drake vs everyone else without Kendrick then he'd come out on top. Drake really need to stay away from street dudes who don't care about being famous like Push and Kdot. It's such a terrible stylistic matchup

Drake really could have cut out the whole 2nd verse and it would have been way better. I think it’s his weakest rapping, the worst beat and he’s just going off on people he shouldn’t even have been caring about at this point.
