Fungi, plants, and animals have true nuclei as eukaryotes,
Bacteria and archaea don’t so they are prokaryotes!
In both types a semi-permeable membrane acts as a divide,
Separating the surroundings from what’s in the cell’s inside!
The cell membrane lets the cell control its biochemistry,
Selecting what can and can’t enter for life is key!
The cytoplasm is all that is within the cell membrane,
Meanwhile the cytosol excludes organelles from its domain!
The cell’s nucleus houses its genetic information,
It's stored as DNA packaged with tight organization!
Mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell.
For aerobic respiration mitochondria excel!
Mitochondria convert the cell’s glucose to ATP,
To perform basic life functions, ATP molecules are key!
The rough and smooth endoplasmic reticulum’s routine,
Is helping to produce and also to store the cell’s protein!
Ribosomes cover the rough endoplasmic reticulum,
Lipids are made by smooth endoplasmic reticulum!
Protein modification in the golgi apparatus is based,
While the peroxisomes help with the metabolism of waste!
In plants a cell wall is wrapped around the cell membrane,
The cell wall’s cellulose protects and stabilizes their domain.
Vacuoles fill up space and have enzymes for digestion,
Helping store nutrients and performing waste degradation!
Thanks to chloroplasts, plants can produce their own food,
With help from the pigment chlorophyll, with which they are imbued!
This chlorophyll captures light as energy which then drives,
Photosynthesis reactions so that the little plant thrives!
Two centrioles are found in centrosomes in animals, guys,
Centrosomes are MTOCs from which microtubules arise!
Last of all animal cells and plant cells possess lysosomes,
And do not forget that these are full of digestive enzymes!
