To the people commenting about how people are so addicted to their phones etc: you missed the entire point of this video. I’m a millennial that grew up without a phone, however that’s not what this video is about. Our entire infrastructure is online: water, gas, oil, electricity and even most of our line of defense. If someone was to hack those things I don’t care who you are or how special you think you are because you aren’t addicted to your phone, YOUR LIFE WILL BE AFFECTED. Prepare for the worse! This was a wake up call that we aren’t invincible.
We have Verizon and where we live here in Christmas Valley Oregon USA we had an outage for 15 hours about 6 months ago and they never had an explanation for us so I'm not surprised about the other phone carriers doing the same thing now ❤
Gen X is just laughing at everyone who can't get around without the cellphone. Growing up in the 80's and 90's there was no cellphone or Internet to deal with.
You will see the absolute worst behavior in humans when they get scared. Two months ago a woman asked me to teach her something about being prepared for disasters. I told her the ability to stay calm in a crisis situation is the best defense in emergencies, and it’s a skill you can cultivate.
You’re right. I’ve learned to be cold calm in a crisis after a turbulent childhood. Working on getting into a remote area away from mass panic. I’m in a rural area but surrounded by heavily armed neighbors. I want to be farther away. I don’t love guns but in the process of getting strapped.
The people crying and going to a store and blaming a clerk is ridiculous. I'm actually embarrassed for you. What will they do in an actual emergency? This is the furure of our country, people. 👏👏
they will be the same ones running around, screaming when all hell breaks loose too. this was nothing. So cell phones were down. it kept the scammers away . woo hoo
@Anitak.-rj1ek continue to drive diesel and buy a diesel emergency generator, Tractors also drive without the network and electricity and diesel pumps can also be done by hand!
@@pfv3462most diesels produced from the 90s on have a lot of electric controllers that will be effected in an emp situation. If your going to go that route I suggest 80s and older, that's when they were still mechanical injection and controlled. Same with gas engines the older the better for emergency situations.
Born in 1954 and went about 40 years without an electronic leash. Didn't have internet until 1996. Survived just fine and could again. Been preparing for this for quite awhile.
I was born in 1968, our parents took us to the family ranch to show us how to survive without electricity, and water, we all had to work everyone had several jobs we would be done at about 4 or 5 pm, I was in charge to go to the nearby river and get the water I had two donkeys they would carry the water back home I had to do 3 trips back and forth, I was also in charge of feeding the chickens and picking up the eggs, then my mom would make cheese I would grind the processed milk to grind it until it was smooth then my mom would add salt and make the patties in a mold then I would take the cheese whey and give it to the dogs, cats, horses and pigs, it was hard work at night we would light up with candles to read books and some heavy duty camping gas lamps
I agree with you 💯%. The only problem I have with this is that we are lacking the infrastructure we had years ago. I mean, how many people today actually have land lines?
@@paulad.4578 oh no buddy. It’s all bundled with cable and internet now. I urge people to drop all forms of social media. I did and it’s so liberating.
I was laughing when my service started glitching out. But I grew up without cellphones. I am older. People need to learn how to survive without them, just in case!
It truly is. I was born in the 70’s so I’ve lived without it. Interestingly we had a few days of weather that knocked out power/WiFi for a couple of days. My mom who lives with us had the hardest time! We have a battery bank to give us heat, a couple lights & other little things, however her not being able to watch tv was apparently the worst thing ever 😅 I just relaxed, read books, went to bed earlier etc.
@zacbenz8348 - Yes I agree. Really there should be paper back ups of information printed so that banking medical, etc can function if computers go down . This attack was just a warning & ? a trial. The country involved is hoping for ignorance or people to look at it a different way. Then it's easier for them.
I'm Gen X - I have AT&T and I went about my day. I learned my lesson from Hurricane Sandy - have a landline phone, crank radio, and cash on hand. I'm also a prepper so...stay safe everyone and keep a level head. 🙏🏾
What are people going to do when the whole grid goes down? To blame the employees for the service going out is scary. It shows that people will not be reasonable when the cyber attack actually hits and lives will be lost because tempers will explode over something out of their control.
I’m a Veteran and know the importance of being prepared. “After a disaster, you will NEVER hear anyone complaining that they were too prepared” -Me I’ve been speaking these truths to people for years & it’s refreshing to see people finally waking up. Thanks for this video and helping to open peoples eyes & minds!
What do you suggest we do in times like this? Especially if it involves us depending on something that can be disabled too easily by anyone capable of doing it...
@@saisantoshi371 I could write an essay for you, but to save time, here’s a the shortest recommendation I can give: Educate yourself on basic survival skills that would provide you with shelter, food, water and means to keep yourself safe. Those are the most essential needs & I can not stress enough the need to keep You and yours safe! When things hit the fan, people will become extremely violent to take what you have… fear will take over the masses. Your best chance at survival will be Knowledge and training. I’ve been to War & I’ve been trained to always be prepared & survive… fear is not easy to overcome but it is possible! Doing some of these things will make you feel empowered and you’ll be able to conquer that fear. Basically learn all the primitive skills that our society had basically forgotten… then practice these skills and become proficient with them. I’m sorry this is so long. I’m trying to put so much knowledge into a small comment 🤣 I have so much more to say… you’ve kind of inspired me to consider making survival videos again. I use to make them on my main channel. @@RiverRatWA57 A cyber attack would affect everything you use in your life. Your cell phone is the least of your worries. However, communications are extremely important. I don't have a home phone. I need my phone to call my family. It's unreal to me that people think cyber attacks are a joke.
I do as well. I also like to prepare and have fun doing it. However, I saw 'leave the world behind' and it made me realize, it isn't that easy to pull something like that off. I can't see how it would realistically be done. Even COVID could never last longer than it did unless there were huge casualties.
Those who designed and built these micro processed technologies embedded "back door" access intentionally. It's all part of their ultimate plan (agenda) and a massive take down is on the immediate horizon. When it all goes down there will be helter skelter mayhem in the land of the soon to be zombies.
If people are getting this upset about Losing their cell phone signal. Just imagine what's going to happen when there's food shortages. That day is coming.
The internet went out in our area for 2 days. It was amazing that my family got up and did something productive! Yard cleanup, gardening, misc unfinished projects...life goes on without devices.
+ its typical for me to go upto 3 weeks with cell tower issues here in New Zealand , 12 hours is nothing 3 weeks is a long time but not that bad , People are just paranoid and rely far to much on Internet etc,
Being tech free isn’t the issue or not having access to devices. But if these cyber attacks keep happening it can really damage our infrastructure. What if an attack caused a bank to wipe all account?
It's still amazes me. How many people are going to just curl up in a ball. And allow the world to take them under. When a simple piece of technology collapses. We've only had cell phones for about 35 years. Our grandmas and grandfathers. Lived a whole lives without them. People are making technology too important.
I've still got All the CBs and related equipment for such as well as a home base station and antenna from my father who was interested in them as a hobby because he was medically homebound and from my husband who was a trucker, so glad I've kept it all
Mine was a "mama leash". My sons got it for me (I was 58) after their Dad died, 10 years ago. I'm always grousing about what a pain it is. It used to be that when you took a drive, the phone stayed at home. 😏
Your son in cyber security. What division? The hackers were hacked the cheaters were cheated the pirates were pirated the theives were stolen from. Universal law. It's the great reset. Atlantean technology is unhackable and untraceable. Elon Musk warned everyone this could happen. Do you trust your device? It depends on what region and what they found. If they don't like they shouldn't take others id's shouldn't cheat shouldn't steal shouldn't hack. Ghost program is untraceable. They could have found something and hid the files. It's the great awakening, everyone awake yet? This is supposed to be exciting and extremely sacred this great awakening. Everyone is being forced to evolve. Ascension process is happening right now. It's not just hackers the solar activity uptick is effecting the grids which is fine it finds what ones need to be replaced. Have the most amazing ascension process!!
Not just dependant, weak also. Im shocked at the number of people who're so addicted to their phones that they break down and freak out when they won't work properly. That's the scariest thing about this that I've seen.
Sucks that the addiction was the main point of all of these apps that down-regulate indigenous dopamine production in the brain. This is especially true with tiktok, where the attention span is also under attack. The people in charge of these large corporations are more nefarious than most realize.
I see now why 'who are' isn't usually shortened like we're and you're can be without having offence pre loaded when using who are with pronoun sensitive individuals 😏
It's sad how ppl freak out when they loose there phone service for a half of a day. My phone was out and it didn't phase me at all. It was kind of nice to not be bothered.
I am addicted to my phone, but just not being able to have it for half a day and actually just not be bothered by people on my phone, it was pretty nice.
Wow... I didn't even notice an outage... A quiet cell is a good cell. And if our cell phones and internet services stop... Just means we have to get outside and actually live.
Unfortunately some of us need our phones. I have an immune deficiency and have to order my infusions over the phone,I will literally die without my infusions so this is terrifying for me.
Most people in urban and suburban areas have no idea how to live without. Simple things like procuring drinkable water, hunting, knowing edible plants that grow in your area. Sadly this is the reason why if there is a prolonged outage they will have the highest casualty rates.
Yes that's exactly right. Whats going to happen when the grid goes down and we have no water coming out of the faucets no electricity. All the things we take for granted will be. gone..

Hi Omar, Funnily enough the same thing happened here, in Australia very recently. It shut down businesses, government services, banks, shops, they also thought possible cyber attack, it caused chaos nationwide. It definitely makes you aware how easy it could be for someone to shut down everything, kind of scary too
@@randymaines966 The insanity is that our government wants to centralise everything and roll out digital currency, when the only thing that worked was cash when Optus went down. The poor store employees have absolutely nothing to do with it. This has really shown how fragile society is without their phone and just another way big brother can control the masses, this was another test.
I work in retail and feel bad for those associates. They have no power over any of what happened. They just work there on store-level. Sometimes we have our credit card system go down. Of course you can live without a cell-phone. But can you live without : 1. access to your bank account - it is dependent on an electronic grid - when the cash in your wallet/purse runs out - what then ? - how do you buy food? 2. water - all the control infrastructure for water supply is dependent on an electronic grid - no pumps = no water 3. electricity - ditto 4. transport - your car / bus and train. The gas pumps will not operate for cars and busses. Signal systems would be out for train movement. The grid drives the trains 5. Emergency systems would not be contactable - the hospitals would not be able to operate - even if you walked there. Modern society is very vulnerable. The system you experienced in your childhood NO LONGER EXISTS. You could easily survive a day totally off the grid. How about a week ?/ a month?/ several months? / years? Why do you assume it will all be OK and back to normal after a couple of hours and a weak apology from your carrier company?

I've ALWAYS said it: IT'S UNHEALTHY and DOWNRIGHT DANGEROUS to be so reliant on technology -- even appliances! EMPOWER YOURSELF: learn how to do manually as many things as you can!
Ive done the off grid thing... No electricity, no running water, no wifi, no internet, no refrigeration, no heat or ac and little to no cell service. When you learn to do without, it isnt as bad as people are freaking out about. In the even of a power down situation... 1st and foremost keep your cool! Have a plan that is ready to go at a moments notice, practice that plan and stick to it, and if an evacuation order come about... Stay off the main roads and highways if at all possible and if you cant leave your location, at least be ready to bug in. That means being well stocked up and wellnprepared for anything and even for the what if scenerios cuz thats all you can do.
People are the scary part on any outages, you got angry people, you got greedy people and you got straight out crazy and good people have to deal with all of them

While at work if they put there phone on the table and it started digging and making noises they would be freaking out and not be able to think about anything but their phone. The same thing happened in Australia a few months ago where the second largest provider had a nationwide outage that lasted for over 14 hours with little to no explanation from the company as to why. Calls to emergency services also didn't work. It resulted in the CEO quit her post. They blamed it on a software upgrade too.
Is not only the phones, if the whole network collapse everyone will be affected as well as All services starting for the food supply chain, water, gas , electricity, hospital's and everything, and any operative system that depends on integral circuits, electronics, software's and computers that in the particular and very peculiar Case of this country, means everything !!!
Hey Omar, Mike from Australia here. Had to comment on this when you said that you were not aware of the cell phone outage happening anywhere else in the world. In November 2023 our major cell phone supplier Optus had a very similar outage, the freaky thing being that they also blamed the outage on a software update malfunction. Freaky huh! Love your work bro, keep the faith.
My dad, who's 87, lives in a large retirement community in clearwater, Florida lost his landline phone service from Wednesday night until 5:00pm Thursday. So did all his neighbors as well as their cell phone service. We were disconnected on the phone when we were speaking, and I couldn't get a hold of him until the next day at 5pm. I live in New hampshire and we didn't have any problems here. He has AT&T for both landlines and cell. Nobody mentions landlines but some of those were out too.
I live in NC & we had No problems or issues at all here & I have AT&T as my provider for phone & internet service both. Glad you named a particular area/town cuz I've been wondering where this was supposed to have happened.
I still don't even know if my Verizon went out. I wasn't on my phone for days and couldn't have cared less lmao. I didn't know there was an outage until I saw it on my favorite prepper's yt channel.
Is this what human beings have come to now? People losing their minds because they have no cell phone service like it's the end of the world! It wasn't that long ago when we had no cell phones - only home phones. The world has gotten along very nicely without all this technology throughout mankind's history. So, lets all get grip on ourselves if the service goes out permanently.
You do realize that in this day and age many folk use their cellphone as a necessary tool for work, right? And what are you not understanding about what Omar and folk in the video snippets are trying to explain? It's not about cell phone outage - it's about "online" accessibility for many different business and social structure vital services - water, emergency services, energy etc. You need to do more research so you can get a grip if phone service goes out. Because on day it may not just be the phone... it could be everything and you will instantly be returned to life prior to the industrial revolution.
I am with you. Cell phones rule. Look at all the accidents from people texting while driving? Many deaths. Cell phones are not going away. We must adapt.
It’s time for the message to get a landline installed in their homes so if there’s cell phones glitch, they can at least make a phone call an emergency
I'm in Michigan, also use t mobile kept service here. Land lines are not allowed anymore here. They said the cost for upkeep and equipment vs how much is coming in is not worth it and so closing its doors
I know everyone is so use to cell phones but there is something much bigger going on and we all need to prepare ...stock up on food ,batteries, flashlights, etc...

Agree BUT can you buy gasoline or food and water if all of the infrastructure goes down? I always have cash because the local circle K sometimes has card readers down and they only accept cash. If they couldn’t scan the items or open the pumps we would be SOL. How much gasoline can you safely store in your garage? Luckily I have Verizon and had no issues in my state.
It amazes me when it comes to directions how many people can't keep a compass going in their head as they're moving and turning direction. My whole life I've always had a layout of the land of what's been behind me rising front of me and when I turn my internal map / compass turns with it. It’s genetic. I am able to do this but my husband is not lol. 23 and me says it’s a genetic ability some of us have sense of direction and others do not.
Your correct.. I am quick to figure out what direction is which. I grow up running the woods on 20+ acres and never got lost. I can look at the sun get my bearings and keep going..
