@@tenToesUp747 yes pre-order helps the devs and is a good thing...BUT...even though we are a hobby community and enjoy these great products, they take money for it, so they are doing business and not a hobby project, and in business you can not do such a thing....this is the same in every branche, everywhere in the world, if you have a contract and are getting money in advance, you have to deliver...thats why there are usualy panalties for delayed deliveries. Everybody is speaking about 2 options, a delay or a buggy product, but this is not true, there is a third one...GET IT RIGHT ON TIME
@@Halozocker104 i just did my sin and pre-ordered the chinook. i'm hyped to get it but i think i should've bought apache instead while chinooks are still in the workshop
@@tenToesUp747 It's a flawed business model if you need customers to front you money while you develop a product. DCS would be much better served (IMO) if the modules were less expensive, BUT there was a monthly subscription of $10 a month or so. People freak out when they hear "subscription" ... but when considering that the community expects perpetual support for every module, it's really the only way. To expect to pay $69 and still have free bug fixes and enhancements 5 years later is just silly. Yet, people will spend $6 on a Starbucks "milkshake" every day that does nothing but make them fat and give them diabetes.
Honestly, I think they only announced a "release date" for the Chinook to gather those precious pre order bucks. It was clearly never going to release, no videos even came out. But I think overall there's a hesitation to pre order trending based on their past behaviour.
Thank you for your updates. Clear, concise and to the point. It’s a complicated process and quite challenging to keep this, or any other flight sim, up and running properly. I appreciate the hard work involved. Keep up the good work!
Damn, I re-enlisted back in 2014 on the 4th of July in Shindad and in the back of the CH-47 mid flight. Would have been cool to reenact this tomorrow, but last-minute delay shot my dreams. Guess I will have to schedule a jump session instead. Thanks, ED.
The issue isn't that they aim to fix the bugs before release, the problem is that they have delayed the release twice, just a day before the scheduled date.
My guys waited in dc vc so im glad i watched these great news, well depends on the case, so i could notify them❤💙💛 Greetings from Germany Without you we'd still be waiting
What else is new with ED..SSDD. Ever since they combined stable version with open beta there has been scores of "bugs" or other issues...every time there is a "new update" have to run a slow repair every time. It's getting frustrating asf. I do enjoy flying DCS, but this is getting ridiculous. Great video Andrei
I don't use Sream. None of the modules or maps can be purchased through steam...know they can be played. I have a custom built system. Guys in the Squadron I fly in have similar issues.
@@davidjames7382 might be related to standalone then, I never had the need to repair my install over several years worth of updates, including the unification of stable/beta and the switch to MT. By the way, all modules are available on Steam except pre purchases which doesn't matter anyways as you can't fly them yet, and Heatblur did a short after-release sale exclusive to Steam so others might follow suit to compensate for missing pre-purchase sales, hopefully.
Andre, could you ask Moza if they have any plans to open distribution centres in Europe/UK? Currently the shipping makes it cost about as much as the other FFB options.
I am so happy I slow walked getting into DCS. starting with the viper at 50% off and holding there. I am never spending money with ED again. They are a joke.
I’d just kind of like to read the change log. If they only pushed it 24 hours the changes being made to the code shouldn’t be that monumental. Oh well. I’ll find out tomorrow like everybody else, I guess
Really looking forward to seeing more ground ai upgrades. Recently nought apache fun will get better from now. Also really looking forward to hearing more about chinook from you
The fact that every tank kills with 100% accuracy helicopters has been a sore subject with me. I am sure that real tank and APC crews are not that good at that.
or bmps shooting down fucking jets going mach 1+ on the deck so many times ive been taken out by them on max skill level they are basically gepards x10
I just want two things: Baltic's "Gamblers" campaign, and the ability to play "Zone 5" again without the game crashing whenever a missile hits its target. Edit: and of course Reflected's "MiG Killers" campaign, which apparently is finished and in ED's hands (to sit on it, for.....reasons). So, three things. 🙂
This is in no way meant to come across as a rant as rants are not productive. These are my actual feelings and thoughts. It would seem to me that Eagle Dynamics couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery!! This update was supposed to be released last Wednesday, and then it was a week delay. That day has been and gone. Don't trap off telling their community that these updates are coming, then delay them on a fluid basis. Maybe RAZBAM is right? Just my thoughts on this. What I do know is that they are self destructing an amazing product. If I feel this way, there will be many others in the same mindset. Absolute clowns!
Interesting view, thanks for sharing it 👍 But an update to be postponed due to issues in testing can not be part of their internal dispute with Razbam(my personal opinion). If they had such a hard time with this one, being quite filled with content and changes to core gameplay (supercarrier control for example), rather they fix it before they release it. You know why? Because the same persons who now cry for the delay will cry even harder on broken things. I do get the frustration, but I separated the noise from actual content. I am glad they continue to work and test and struggle to prepare things for us. Plenty of content right now to enjoy flying in DCS until this update comes out. Cheers!
@hipgames your points are totally valid, and I agree. I'd rather they release an update that works than one that doesn't. My point was to not hype up a release only to pull it at the last minute. It's this that causes frustration. Much the same as when the Phantom released. As for the point I made about Razbam... I appreciate that these are two totally different topics. However, in my opinion, the way that ED goes about their releases of updates... who is to say that they don't apply the same mentality to all of their admin... Ie making payments. Again, this is only my opinion, and there are only 2 parties that know the truth. Like I said, it wasn't a rant more of a highlight. They are only hurting themselves here... dont hype a release of either an update or DLC until they know 100% it is good to go. Change of topic... thank you so much for the time and effort you put into your content. Your opening statement on your videos are a part of our household now. Even my wife tunes in. Keep up the excellent work.
@@4rgodanrot If they dont public an relase date, they cant give us a 10 or 20% offer if you buy the module before it is relesed. Its all about money today. Several devs make the same. "Give me your money now incase you are not able to when it is relesed, or pay full price" This is how it is sadly...
@baardk2 But... this is how I would operate. I'd make sure the product was 100 % and ready to ship... or download. But I'd hold it back. Then, build the hype. Rather than spout off telling the world how great they are, then embarrass them selves on the release day. Make sure you have the product before you sing like a champ. It's this concept that pisses people off.... do you agree?
Those Kola winter textures look amazing. i might buy the Viggen and the map now! I do understand the people who are annoyed at the delay. it should not happen with literally every patch. let's hope they get on track soon and understand that we need more reliable communication.
I will never buy a pre-release ever again! Now, when I hear there's a delay......... I don't feel anything! I don't feel let down, nor do I feel anxious. I'll pay an extra 20 bucks when it comes and if the lucky Utoobers that receive it for review says it's mostly completed. I'll buy it!
On the one hand with Afghanistan it's nice to give users a lower cost option to get into another map - I'm not entirely positive, though hopeful, that it'll spur some better multiplayer map diversity - because we have free Marianas and it's still not nearly as popular as it might be online.
What? so they are planing to drop multiple DLC's for afghanistan map? The whole map situation is getting out of hand... just release a google maps generated world map for DCS WORLD already...
