13:19 what a play by everyone. Irelia uses Krugs to escape, Lee Sin Es the krugs to follow and ward hops toward her, Irelia blast cones herself into Baron pit but gets hooked back by Blitz and killed by Lee Sin. The ability of everyone on display her is amazing.
To be fair, he plays A LOT. He also plays many of these games on streams (now that there are splits and not yearly rank resets). Also, to be fair, some of his games are in not-top-roles (aka support, jungle, etc). So not ALL of his videos/games/streams are him actually playing top to Challenger. It's also important to remember that he didn't actually play from Iron to Challenger. He played from "unranked" (aka no rank yet), to Gold/Plat to Challenger. He skipped 3 whole ranks because of how he plays. Ask him, or anyone else, to truly do "unranked to Challenger". They won't. But that's also a limitation of the LoL ranking/MMR system auto-detecting when you should be "accelerated to the next tier/rank". So even if he was put in Iron/Bronze/Silver, he'd probably be out in no time and not have to experience the literal hell that is people thinking they're the next Neace and they're not shit.
@@Dyanosisit's also just legitimately not fun to watch games with that high of an elo gap, like yeah he could've bought an iron account, but what fun is there in watching (and playing, i'm sure) him astrostomp every game with no friction whatsoever? my favorite games to watch from pekin are the seemingly doomed comebacks
@@Dyanosis Just for an idea, out of Pekin's 355 soloq games on this account, 11 weren't in the toplane with 4 in jungle, 4 in support, and 3 in mid. I doubt that these 11 games would make a substantial difference in his elo, so it's not a factor in this climb. As for the second point, if he truly leveled the account from one to thirty, his MMR is placing him in gold/plat elos at the start because he's already shown more than enough skill to place there; buying iron accounts only ruins low elo lobbies while farming content on terrible players. For a frame of reference on LP gain, usually smurf accounts will gain +39-+42 LP per win and lose around ~9-12 per loss. starting from iron 4 0LP with an average winrate of 50% (incredibly low for these standards, but just as a lowball estimate), it's an average LP gain of +30 per match; after 14 matches, he would be out of each rank (assuming he lost 50% of games.) until he's leveled out his LP gain at higher elos. Regardless of if he climbed from iron or if he climbed from plat/gold, the bulk of the climb will be in master/gm, as it is here. Herein lies the reason why he wouldn't actually do an "iron to challenger" climb, as there's no purpose. At most, it's ~42 games in iron-silver, likely far fewer with a higher than 50% winrate. All of this to say, it is in fact incredibly impressive that he reached high GM this quickly, some creators take nearly 600 games to reach challenger on their mains, while Pekin is like 3 games away with nearly half that. I hope this helps clear things up because smurfing content mills are ruining the type of content that's put out on league; with creators like Zwag and Professor Akali only playing against silver fans, I'm actually incredibly glad Pekin didn't go from crazy low elo to challenger
@@Dyanosis You call it limitation, but honestly if a challenger level player ever ends up in a iron, bronze or silver match thats just hell for t he enemy team. it is good that the system accurately detects that pekin shouldnt ever played with these low ranks.
What's particularly crazy to me is that somebody can have been playing long enough to get to grandmaster or challenger while doing this without getting banned. People that just placed around silver, sure. But the top 0.07% of players?
That first game with illaoi...what was that comp you guys had...poke, stomp, heal, over and over and over in their face and they couldn't even get close. Never seen such constant devastation wave-front against a whole team.
@@brennannowers9834Possibly but his off-meta climb also had him playing picks like Lulu, and his Kayn experience was… not great. Hard to tell, at least from an outsider’s perspective.
Would be interesting for you to make a recap video with your thoughts on the challenge and what you learned. Top lane is definitely the hardest role in the game so interested in your take.
It would be kinda cool to reach challanger with Zoe top. I know the point is to try top lane champs but finishing with your signature chanp would be cool.
I think it was just a really clipped "everybody". More like "er-body". Probably still deserves the report though. Lower that sub count and view count a bit.
Honestly I’m gonna be sad to see this series go but Ik I’ll still love watching your vids no matter what twin … maybe other roles in the future till eventually your challenger in everything ?? 😮
thats actually so weird that the system didnt detect that player. when that happens to me (happened like 3 days ago too) we all report and when the game finishes they give u LP back, everytime
Your Aatrox W combos were very... interesting. Also sucks that Akshan can just walk out of your W so nonchalantly because there's really nothing you can do on Aatrox. Though I feel like I've faced some Aatrox players who nail all of their sweet spots.
Once you finish climbing to Challenger on the top lane account, will you try doing an autofill to Challenger climb at some point in the future? You seem like you have the skillset for it.
If you've seen any of his streams, he does play other roles other than top for this series. So how is this not "autofill to Challenger"? Just because he showcases mostly top games doesn't mean he got to Challenger ONLY playing Top. That's literally impossible thanks to LoL's absolutely horrible "obviously you like this role so we'll give to someone else for a reason we won't tell you" system.
Insane to me how sometimes almost challenger players make so obvious mistakes. The Zac at minute 36 can just use q to slow and then E or he Qs a minion and then autos akshan.. but well, who am I to talk xD
i REALLY wouldnt fault riot for implementing AI into a thorough griefing detection system beta. one of its direct purposes is to route out irregularities in performance
That would be funny but no. My understanding is the only change would be that like most non targeted abilities, it’s cast from the edge of your hitbox so it would get sliiiighly longer range equal to the increase in your gameplay radius
