I was there! Both nights, plugged and acoustic sets at my favorite SF venue, Great American Music Hall. Truly magical as I had missed seeing Chameleons live in the 80s. Original band split again shortly after this. Got to meet Mark about 15 years later and tell him how much I really enjoyed both gigs.
I wish I could of went to this. Didn't even know they were playing back then. such a challenging time with family and health and some of the best and worse experiences. nearly dying from impaling myself. not long after this session was recorded in 2002. but I found out about it probably 2010. Anyways, I wish The Chameleons had the chance to become as big as U2 or any of those other bands in that time period. No one sounds like them. They're just that Unique. Met him a few times in San Francisco and Oakland
Why did mark develop that weird singing style in around 86-87 where he start pronouncing the words too much, never been a fan of it, prefer how he sang in the first two albums, that’s just my opinion
