JJ Reddick would be an excellent head coach in Charlotte

As a hornets fan, I’m hoping we roll the dice on JJ. Tremendously high IQ and the young guys could use his words of experience from his 15 years in the league.

I do believe when healthy, we have one of the best young groups in the nba. Before he got hurt, Mark Williams was playing like one of the best centers in the league, and the same can be said for Lamelo. Once he hit his stride he was almost averaging a double double on like 28 points or something. Brandon miller is an All-NBA potential player, and let’s not forget about Miles Bridges, who is very gifted as well

JJ Reddick would make a good coach if that is what he wants to do in his life. There. I said it. The man clearly, breathes, drinks and eats basketball. I love what he does as a basketball analyst, podcaster and sometimes game commentator. Clearly knows the game.

Honestly this just makes sense. I think it works. Not to mention he’s familiar with the state playing college ball in NC. Hornets need to get him before another team swoops in.

I think what JJ will bring to a team like Charlotte is accountability and discipline. As a distant outside looking at that team, that appears to be what the team lacks. JJ will be good for the organization.

Hornets fan since a pre-season practice first year that I attended in 1st grade... I like your take here, my man Doug from the Locked on Hornets podcast said just today or yesterday that IF the Hornets are going to take a risk on a coach, NOW is the time, with Lamelo and Brandon Miller under contract for years. Even if it doesn't work out in 1-2 years, this would be the time to try he suggested. I'd tend to agree, if that is the direction ownership is leaning.

Every young teams breakthrough came because of a coach. Coaches matter especially in crunch time getting the team level headed an speaking life into them. Sad thing is something young players can run a coach out too.

Jj reddick might not have experience as a coach but i don't know many people with his level of passion for the game theory aspect of this sport. he is very professionnal, very rationnal individual and a young small market team would be a great start to a coaching career. I love lemelo he’s truly my favorite pg just for the fact I grew up watching him how older dudes grew up watching Lebron. I’ve been a fan of him and his brothers since he was a freshmen and what I will say about all the brothers except Gelo is they are very talented but they can not stay on the court between him and lonzo over the last 7 years they probably played less then 250 games combined

Lamelo and Lonzo need to do what Curry did and bulk up. Once Steph put on a little more weight and muscle, his injuries decreased significantly. He still got injured, but he also went on to win 4 rings so the Ball brothers need to hit the weight room.

Reddick is quite knowledgeable yes but idk if his knowledge will translate as a coach. Something about doesn’t convince me he’ll be good at managing guys the way he needs to and having a clear distinction between him as a coach w his players.

Hornets needs to build around Miller, not Lamelo. They also need to acquire a decent PG as well. Need to be available first and foremost. Can't build around someone who is always hurt and wearing street clothes.

I mean, my first thought was "really? JJ Reddick?" But then my second thought was "well, it worked for Steve Kerr..." So yeah, I can see it working, why not? (Especially for Charlotte. If we are talking about Milwaukee, that might be a different discussion)

What he said about Dillon Brooks is on the money. That alone tells you JJ will do good at that job. You need a guy who can manipulate and play with the pieces he is given. This is a guy who understands how to break it all down just like Gilbert was saying. There is a lot of stupidity and low IQ folks in the NBA right now. A mind like JJ coaching a young team that has literally no expectations. Its a great risk and you are in the eastern conference just getting a little better puts you in the playoffs.
