Welcome to Episode 80 of Growing Fashion Villioti UNPICKED - The Chateau Diaries visit Villioti
A moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived!
Stephanie, Philip, Isabelle, Percy and Gerry from ‪@TheChateauDiaries‬ stopped by the Villioti Fashion Institute for a visit during their trip to South Africa.
It has been a long wait to finally meet Stephanie and some of the other members of the Chateau Diaries. This was all suppose to happen towards the end of 2021 but the travel ban from France had halted their trip to South Africa. However, the new year quickly came around bringing along with it one of our true highlights for the year already.
Join us in this episode as we prepare and spend the day with these incredible people.
Once again we would like to thank everyone at Chateau De LaLande and all of the Chateau Diaries and ‪@cadeauxatthechateau‬ viewers for their support and extended efforts to make Mmakhotso's dream come true.

I don’t have enough words to thank you for the most magical day ✨ The Villioti Fashion Institute is one of the most creative, inspiring, happy places that I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. It was astonishing to see Mmakhotso blossom under your care, she is so very talented! Trying on your beautiful dresses was like stepping into a dream and I still can’t get over your generosity at sending me home with so many of them! How fantastically talented you all are and all the gowns were a stunning piece of art especially the ones that were gifted to Stephanie. Hello Christine H I loved you message, thank you l can’t tell you how much we appreciate you supporting our channel. Josh is a fantastic asset to our company and he dose such an amazing job of editing the videos. As for Mmakhotso we are so proud of her, l had no idea that she made those dresses. She did ask me if she wanted to make something if it would be ok, and if she did what size should she make it, I said just make it to fit one of the dolls and let’s hope for the best. After that l heard nothing until she pulled them out the packet, it was amazing to see. So happy you subscribed just by subscribing and watching you will definitely help to change someone’s life. I loved this vlog from start to finish. So many talented people doing such amazing work is a joy to see. Mmakhotso's work is really far beyond her years and I look forward to hearing her name in the future as well. I agree with Stephanie that what she got to do is every girls dream. The Wild Africa Cream cocktail sounds delicious and as a scatterling of Africa in la France profonde where any chance we had of getting hold of peppermint crisp was at 3.60€ a pop from an importer and now as it's been discontinued I had to make a plan, so here's a recipe I found for: Peppermint Crisp Chocolate: 115g granulated sugar 1 drop peppermint oil Green food colouring (optional) 200g dark and milk cooking chocolate broken into small pieces For the cracknell Place the sugar into a saucepan over medium heat. Watch it carefully as it dissolves - but don't stir it as it will form crystals. It will change colour once dissolved to a caramel gold and will begin to boil. Allow to boil for about half a minute until it's a dark caramel colour. Remove from the heat, be careful it's extremely hot and stir in a drop of peppermint oil and food colouring if you're using it. Pour into a tray lined with a piece of baking paper and allow to cool and set. Once set, you will be able to break it up or crush it with a rolling pin. For the chocolate: Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Once melted, pour half into a lined baking tin. Add the crushed cracknell onto half of the chocolate and pour the rest of the chocolate over the cracknell. Allow to set.

Hello Trish D Wow that’s so amazing, a recipe to make your own peppermint cream. I am definitely going to try and make it, l love being creative in the kitchen. I don’t know why they discontinued peppermint Crisp chocolates they were amazing. But thank you for sorting out that problem, like l said l am going to try it and and definitely get back to you. Hello N A Thank you for the compliment l try to be nice 😂😂 yes the dresses are expensive but if they just hang in a room with nobody to see them and enjoy them then they are a waste. But Stephanie can use them and we all get to enjoy them. They are gowns we make for fashion week for marketing and we usually sell them off. Hello 👋 Heather from Canada The students name is Mmahotso and the lady with her is her grandmother who is raising he. It is common practice hear in Africa that the grandparents look after the children and the parents both work to support the grandparents whilst they look after their grandchildren. What a wonderful day celebrating Villioti fashion design and the school! Mmakhotso has done so well with her scholarship from LaLande. Her dresses were wonderful considering her first year of design and sewing. And Spero to give so many wonderful dresses to Stephanie and the outfit to Philip. So generous! Although I agree with you to see them worn and enjoyed is far better than leaving them hanging on racks. Also a worldwide audience will enjoy seeing them worn at LaLande and elsewhere and will celebrate you and your school students. Hello Jenifer Campbell 👋 We are all so proud of Mmahotso, even more so when we saw what she made for Stephanie. She is a brilliant student and we all love her dearly. I could have given all those dresses in that room to Stephanie, but just giving what l gave her was difficult as she kept saying, no no no you can’t do that, l kept saying but l want to, l must say she was so overwhelmed, but no was not an option. We usually have fashion week and showcase our collection twice a year, but due to covid things didn’t happen part of the collection which is usually 70 pieces was made and then just hung in the fitting room. So getting rid of it is cathartic and it inspired me to now move on and make new ones. At least as you say they are being used and out there for all to enjoy including myself. We did have a fun day, but best was Stephanie’s face every time she tried anything thing on l would say you have to have this one. It was always followed by a noooooo, and Isabelle would say to her Stephanie you are being greedy 😂😂😂😂😂 l loved it.
