If one's wildest dreams of Venice, Italy were to come true, what would they be? Would there be 18th-century Baroque costumes, and would the costume-making actually work? Would the famous Carnivale di Venezia be happening? Would we attend a Venice Carnival Ball? Would true love be confirmed under the Bridge of Sighs? What is it really like inside St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace? Could we possibly dance inside the Palazzo Loredan, one of Venice's most exquisite private palaces? Would we sail into the sunset on a gondola with a singing gondolier? Dared we dream to share this experience with our daughter and friends?

Thank you so very much for sharing your lovely film of your trip to Venice. The mountains along the way were absolutely spectacular. How clever you have been to make the fabulous costumes. So lovely of you to share the 18C customs you spend weeks making, so all the guests will long remember their own Carnivale di Venezia experience. May I say: you, Simon, Sarah and particularly Steve are a cut above and I would join the others sparingly, their lives are their business but my goodness! Steve is like the double bass of the orchestra, the strong façade of the Palladian and then he speaks. I am going to try and watch this episode with all the ads as many times as possible because, first of all, I am SO impressed with your costume making and secondly you're donating these funds to Ukraine. What a fabulous video. You did a terrific job on the costumes, they were incredible, but boy did you look exhausted in the car journey, I did feel for you, yet you kept smiling, I don’t know how you did it….. Wonderful to see everyone come together, Cat, Dan and Ollie were a nice surprise and how lovely to catch glimpses of Stephanie and Phillip very much a couple, as she normally keeps that part of her life very private. Che bella coppia. Happy 25th Anniversary! I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate. You both look so in love. My husband passed away suddenly last May. He still looked at me with so much affection that we would have strangers comment on how "in love" we looked sometimes in pubic. We were together 14 years. That is you and Simon but so much more. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad that part two popped up. Wasn't sure if I was going to have to look for it. . My wish is to visit Italy one day, the birthplace of my maternal grandfather in Sicily where a small street bears the family name "Via Picone" and to see the home of my maternal great grandmother in Messina Sicly. which is still standing. It has been said that my maternal great great great grandfather was a Baron. Because of an earthquake in Messina all records have been lost and we have never been able to find out. His daughter (my great great grandmother) ran off with we who we believe was a Spainiard (who was employed by him) and he disowned her. Would have of loved to know if he lived in a chateau or a castle. So I shall continue to watch your vlogs and vicariously live thru them. You have such a calming voice Vivienne, it's a pleasure to listen to you speak and thanks for sharing your sisters music.

@@ChateauLove I did my DNA and I definetly have some Spanish blood on my mothers side. A family member who used to work for a government agency tried so many avenues to try and find information but didn't have any luck. My mothers family tree is now on Ancestary so we are hoping that any info might populate into ours which could happen. For now I will have to settle for the story of a great aunt who wore her hair in the Spanish style at the nape of her neck and wonder about a great great grandfather who was a Spaniard. LOL
