A real review for normal people , no over tech specs like other reviewers. I say you have a good hook here that makes your channel not only stand out but necessary.
What is missing from reviews most often or not. Is how something lasts. This piece of a junk TV did not last long. They made TVs last a lot longer back then. Sceptre 50" Class 4K UHD LED TV U515CV-U. And before you say, you get what you pay for. Remember this! Well, there is no proof spending more on a TV. That it is going to last 2 years even. So why spend more? If they make TVs worse than they did back then. I literally had tvs last 10 to 15 years. We shouldn't have to be buying warranties and just hoping it will at least last more than 5 years. Not the exact brand. But you get the idea that they can't make tvs last more than 2 to 5 years? Same company. Same concept. I guess I'll check tv repair communities.
I have two Sceptre 4ks. One 55 inch and a 50 inch. I'm not sure how long they last as both are still working flawlessly. I love them and am a loyal customer do to my experience with the tvs. Highly recommended
@@longduckdong2657 Why? The new systems about to come out, what's the point of buying one now? Lol buy a pc so you can slowly invest into it with superior performance
You are doing a thorough review and appreciate it. but dont think anyone cares about sound quality on TVs anymore. We all just assume it will be crap and get an external solution.
I own the 55” model, and my only real complaint is the refresh rate isn’t high enough for me. Not as buttery smooth as I’d like it to be. But, for the price I’m not really allowed to complain, am I? I recommend for anyone to customize the picture and backlight settings yourself for the best color accuracy that fits your wants and needs!
Mine only lasted 1 year and 7 months. Sceptre 50" Class 4K UHD LED TV U515CV-U. I know people often say you get what you pay for. But in this case, newer TVs can't be trusted compared to old TVS. Are you buying a warranty or a TV? Paying more doesn't guarantee you get a better TV. I also suggest just buying a TV. Just return it to the store before the 90 day period. Some how these TV manufacturers need to get to the picture. Warranty means, they might fail the repair and it still has issues. Warranty means it's not a good quality TV if you don't trust it to last. Buy a TV, not a warranty! Older TVs use to last 10 to 15 years. Best Buy: Do you want a warranty with that? Me: Why is there something wrong with it? Best Buy: Probably! Warranty means you might have to just spend $70 just to ship it.
I did buy a sound bar which now makes me like the Scepter so much better. Just a $120 buck sound bar and, as I said, makes a world of difference. One thing I am still trying to figure out is how to keep it from shutting off by itself after so many hours. I hate that. I stream only, no cable, so when it does that I never know if I’m going to come right back where I left off. It’s super annoying.
Mine only lasted 1 year and 7 months. Sceptre 50" Class 4K UHD LED TV U515CV-U. It now has purple hazy lines popping in and out of the picture. It's the junk age of TVs. They use to last 10 to 15 years. You shouldn't have to buy a warranty. Because warranties are junk and often not honored. And when they are , you have to probably pay $70 for shipping. And also they could fail a repair. I had someone fail a computer monitor repair. Welcome to junk land!
Sceptre used to be one of the best gaming monitors back when they were all 4:3 aspect. The two Sceptre televisions on Amazon apparently have a response time of 6.6ms which is faster than LG, Vizio, and Samsung in this price range.
Sceptre is junk (this tv Sceptre 50" Class 4K UHD LED TV U515CV-U lasted 1 year and 7 months) . I had seen another review the 4k and it absolutely looks horrible.
@@SillyOmega Not surprising we are in the junk age for TVS. And it's not what you get what you pay for. TVs use to last longer. This is not even a smart TV. When you buy a good tv. You should not have to buy warranties hoping to last 5 years when it doesn't even make it past 2 years. So why spend more? If they make TVs worse than they did back then. I literally had tvs last 10 to 15 years. We shouldn't have to be buying warranties and just hoping it will at least last more than 5 years
I had this tv basically last only 1 year and 7 months. Sceptre 50" Class 4K UHD LED TV U515CV-U. And it is out of warranty. It has purple lines and hazes it shows on the screen go in and out and then back to a normal picture and then back to purple lines and hazes. Tried different cable boxes, tried different hdmi cables. The same result. Even tried the composite output for a video game system. Same problem. And it seems like a pain in the butt to get the serial number. Other tvs have labels for the numbers they have on the sticker. They will label it with S/N. Then they will tell you the model number with the label model number. This TV just has stickers claiming it's the version number. Then they have another sticker with a number on it. Not telling you if it's the S/N. Then when you google how to find S/N on Sceptre TVs you can't find an answer. Nothing in the manual states where to find the S/N. If people say oh you get what you pay for.
I got one channel that only plays Spanish and then on the commercials it goes back to English they won the show come back on goes back to Spanish how do I fix that
Ive had a 32inch sceptre back from 2013 still goin has some lines in the color like reds but still has a very clean picture, sound is an issue but not that bad for a 250 to 300 dollar tv for a 50 or 55 inch
Yesterday's price is rarely todays price. That said Walmart has this one for $188 right now. Seriously thinking of grabbing. Jist wondering how my P4Pro is going to behave with it.
Awesome I just ordered this tv for $215 with 2 day shipping it will be here Sunday so I was wondering if it was good for gaming this is a great review thanks for the info
lasdrop Walmart .com unfortunately they used fedex who are slow and unorganized I just got the tv like 2 days ago. I looked on the website again and they’ve raised the price to $225 now but it’s still a good deal it works great
I bought this for my girlfriend as a Christmas gift hope she likes it she's not really into gaming of the sort she just likes to watch Sports movies and TV shows and I hope this television does the job
I'm in a place where I can afford a nicer samsung crystal uhd tv too, but its like double the price for a 58". Is this tv good enough, or will I want more color and clarity?
I registered my 55 inch Sceptre from my phone & still had no signal. My ? Is the only way to pull up all the apps is by either using a fire stick or consoles? I used to have a Roku TLC 50 inch TV & when I registered it through my phone it gave me codes that directly opened up my TV but with Sceptre am I able to do the same from the TV like the Roku TLC or is it necessary to have the fire stick to run everything?
Thanks for the review. I was just searing around on Walmart’s app and saw this. For $215.00 for a 50” UHD 4K today, that’s a great price. Was just curious if you still have this TV and if it’s still working good? Anyways, thanks brother! Appreciate the video!
Sceptre 50" Class 4K UHD LED TV U515CV-U did not over 2 years. Do not buy it! It lasted 1 year and 7 months. Good question to ask. Maybe it's the junk age of TVs perhaps? Old Tvs I had lasted 10 to 15 years. These don't. And the warranty is useless. And saying you get what you pay for doesn't really add up. Just paying more doesn't guarantee it will last longer. And warranties just mean it's junk in the first place and a repair might not last. Or a warranty means $70 just to ship it! Ouch!
How is the sound on this?? My current spectre has a sound problem and it’s always going up or down randomly. Especially when bass comes in while playing music or something.
I have this tv but it didn't recognize my ps4 and its just no signal on my tv. I can't set it up on 1080p resolution so how did you fix yours on your ps4?
I own this exact tv bro, I bought it 7 months ago and I have a ps4 and I can't get my sony sound bar to pair with it and I tried to use the HDR feature and it said your tv doesn't support HDR but its a UHD Spectre 55" I don't get it
Hdr and uhd are different things, one focuses on enhancing the pixel count the other focuses on enhancing the color's in those pixels. This tv only comes with uhd, which ups your pixel count
you're not supposed to order tvs by shipping because they break when they get shipped, the solder joints and all the electronics on these tvs aren't designed to be shaken dropped have weight placed on them. Anytime you order a tv by delivery you take a gamble
@@samanthabb9427 I'd say a minimal of 44". Mines is 43" and I had to buy this Universal TV Stand - Table Top TV... www.amazon.com/dp/B07MXH5J75?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share but this thing made the tv look even better!
Hey bro, my recommendation for the sound problem is working with your equalizer. Turn up the sounds that wash out. Left is low sounds and right is high. If you do that give me the news on that so I know to buy it
I'm actually on RU-vid trying to figure out how to repair my spectre 55 inch that I bought in 2015. The screen just went black on me. The volume works though. I have a Samsung and Toshiba tv that i have had over a decade now and no problems.
@Kameron Bell ,,hmm so it worked for 5 years then went out so it's bad?? I've bought 2 more Samsungs since this incident. Those don't ever seem to be bad. The drivers in those spectre seem to go bad alot. There are videos of people replacing them on RU-vid
@@SillyOmega Doubtful, at least that's what the company wants you to believe. That there is a percentage of bad tvs that don't make it through quality control. Because my Sceptre 50" Class 4K UHD LED TV U515CV-U only lasted 1 year and 7 months (purple hazes and lines popping in and out). Warranties are always junk. You expect a TV to last long without having to pay for a good TV. It's the junk age of TVs. They use to last 10 to 15 years. Seems you buy anything newer it doesn't last long. And I guess we can rule out you get what you pay for since paying even $500 doesn't guarantee squat of the quality of the TV. And if it's true that some come bad off the assembly line, shouldn't the company just honor another TV replacement after 2 years. Don't they want to protect their brand. I think it's more, well we are selling a crappy product designed to probably last only 1 year guaranteed. Have them take the lost. This is a cash grab.
