For me one of the best if not the best vid you have done these places need to be highlighted more than your swanky joints the cornerstone of the community well done

Credit to you for championing these family businesses, Gary. Sometimes, it is hard to remember that these are the backbone of England.

The best selection of simply cooked fresh veggies we 've seen for some time. The entire meal looked spot on.

That food looks fantastic, thats the food that the masses need, not the highly proceed crap that is pushed out making everyone sick. Thank you Gary and cameraman. I hope they do well with their business.

That food looked amazing. I often thnk some restaurants cheap out the vegetables, probably because they want you to buy a side order, but that was a great quantity of vegetables. And the gravy is exactly as how I make it.

Just seeing the vibrant colours of those vegetables prove how fresh they were. Also you can’t beat a homemade pie. Sometimes the little independent/family restaurants put these big chain companies to shame. Well done mate and keep up supporting our local small eateries.

The value and quality warrants a 10 from me. The spag bol may not have been up to the standard of more expensive examples but for the price, along with home made garlic bread, it really can't be beaten. Excellent review as always.

My favorite review so far❣ I was a part- owner of a small home- made deli type shop. I loved every minute of it. I still cater...but my shop was THE best fun ever❣ Happy times🤗

Family owned businesses such as this one always treat the customers like family, as if they're feeding their own. I loved everything about this place. Good, decent and honest food. I love gravy, there can never be too much...and I really love how they've served it here! It should be a bit thicker for with roast meats, but with pastry that is perfection.

Congratulations Gary, your campaign to support these wonderful small businesses is to be applauded. Yesterday I went to Cote and the lunch for 4 cost £196 (inc Service and extra tip). It was very tasty but in terms of value there was no comparison, we won't be repeating that for a long while. If only we'd gone to Surbiton!

That looked an amazing substantial meal with lots of lovely veggies on the side. Definitely a full tummy, you might have to have a lie down after that! Swede is one of my favourites too.

That’s wonderful food & gravy spot on in consistency! You’ve awoken memories…….from the age of 3 to 13 I lived in Brighton rd Surbiton. My parents Tom & Betty had a restaurant there…..the”Central Cafe”…….they took it from a run down dump to a big highly successful restaurant. A top London restauranteur visited one day and eat. He told my father his food was top London quality and told him to raise his prices……..Amazing, It was the busiest cafe/restaurant I’ve ever seen…100s of customers. Long gone now……last I saw it was turned into part of the YMCA. Thanks for the memory.

The pie dish was a lovely, vibrant plate of food and you just know you are going to enjoy it. I love these homely places, No frills but very caring in what they produce because they know their customer base.

I often think family business' serve the customer what they would want to serve to themselves, which is the difference between them and the big corporations. Great review Gary.

Gary I really appreciate your stance on supporting local family owned restaurants. I share your view as I would much rather spend my money in a Mom and Pop shop than a corporate establishment. Yay! A fun, wonderful video with "extra Gary"! This put a huge smile on my face! Your enjoyment of the food & cafe was genuine & palpable. The pie presentation was stunning! That plate truly looked like a work of art. No slap-happy, sloppy, thrown-on-the-plate nonsense there. People who own their food services establishments are dedicated, hard-working people who love food and take great pride in offering quality. They have to, or they're out of business. I gave Three Peas in a Pod a 9.5 out of 10 for quality and affordability. Goodness, Gary, my list of places to visit is growing by leaps & bounds! 😊❤

Thanks for giving a shout out for independent cafes. All the best cafes/restaurants I go to are family run - and the service is heartwarming. I broke my arm and could not cook, so went out every lunch to a local cafe, With one arm out of action one of the girls working there asked me if she should cut it up and make things easier for me. How kind was that - and I doubt anyone in the Ritz would do that! Support the independents! Just as Gary says, or we'll just be left the likes of 'you know who' (though I could of eaten that one handed as it is like eating mush).

Good point :) Filet steak in Sunderland in a good Italians is £25... So £20 in London great. Just goes to show we are all being played with some silly prices sometimes:) ;)

As a further thought, if people want to go to 'gastro pubs' etc, then that is their choice. The previous video about theTom Kerridge pub showed it was good quality at a price. The business was clearly aimed at a wealthy area. He made a wise move so good luck.

As soon as the meal arrived, I gave it a definite 10/10….and on top of that unbelievable value for money.

I remember when this cafe first opened and they sold the most amazing ice creams. I unfortunately no longer live in the area but this was a big part of my teenage years.

Oh I love neighborhood cafes! Just had brunch with a friend last week in one that looked as charming as yours. The food is carefully made, the atmosphere cozy, and the price is right.

The combined meals were so beautifully prepared and such good value, nothing less than a 10 will do.

I’ve been in here on several occasions, and it has always been first class. I can honestly say that whatever I’ve ordered it has been superb.

You have certainly discovered some hidden gems on your recent food adventures, Gary. I loved eating at little cafes where the food is homemade and tastes delicious.
