I have the same one!! Since my shop is so small it works really well! Definitely notice a huge difference in air quality and dust buildup.

Yes, same here, noticed a big difference when shaping wood and kirinite knife scales. Great value.

Your site came up while I was watching knife stuff, first of all I think you are a really nice guy, background on me , I have been a knife maker for about 30 years. Worked in a machine shop 20. Then worked in a Blacksmith shop another 15, forged the best ball bearings you could get for free, made knives out of them for 15 years, charged high dollar after I got good. Now here’s the downside. After you get older . I’m 64. You will not be able to keep up by yourself to the strain by yourself. I wish you the best , maybe you can prove me wrong. I hope!

What do you think I won’t be able to keep up with?

As someone who is incredibly OCD, it was very difficult for me to accept the fact that there will inevitably be dust around the shop. I still try to keep up on it at the end of everyday and I keep a cheap robot vac in there to take care of the floor. I HATE dust! haha. That said, I have a couple of WEN pieces of machinery like their small drill press and a generator. To be completely honest, the quality is quite good for the money in my experience and they have both exceeded expectations. EDIT: I also wanted to say congrats on the growth of the channel! I haven't been around for a minute but that's awesome.

Looks like a very affordable winner. But for once, a critique : I would turn it to face the other way so that the intake is pointed at your work and the clean air hits the shelves. The oscillating fan will probably bring the clean air back to you pretty efficiently.

I have the Grizzly version & I'm gonna tell you what the better & cheaper solution is....20" box fan with 20x20 HVAC filters. In a knife shop the filters get filled up FAST so you can quickly take your filter outside, blow it out & pop it back onto the suction side of the fan. You're not going to eliminate all the dust but the fan definitely does a better job than my Grizzly unit.

@@gentrycustomknives8008 Hey, I bought the Grizzly before the box fan...you don't know what you don't know but NOW you can add to your air filtration for A LOT less.

Have you tried magnets to pull the metal out of your belts & the air ? Capture the dust as close as possible to the source. More dust may be captured placing the filter closer to the source & lower to the floor. In addition I use a 4" in line vent fan with exhaust vented outdoors. Remember to create an inlet for outdoor fresh air placed to maximize air flow through shop dust creation zone.

@@gentrycustomknives8008 I am experimenting . . . using 3 cheap welding magnets, amazed by the volume of metal they gather from the belt surface. This has to make these belts cut better & live longer due to reduced loading.

I think that I would turn it around and let it pull from right above the sander as close as you can get it and keep the garage door operable.

Wonder why they specifically state that it’s not for metal particulate filtration? Maybe the size of filter media?

@@gentrycustomknives8008 looks like it goes down to 1 micron, wonder if they make HEPA ones for it that would go down to 0.5-0.3 micron. Or I wonder if they didn’t use that “tight” of a filter to not overload the motor and get the 400 CF/min turn over they advertise

Do you by chance have a Watt Meter like a Kill-A-Watt that you could plug in for a typical days worth of use and get an actual kWh, watts, and amps?
