Let’s take a look see at the cheapest wood fired pellet smoker and grill on Amazon! The KingChii Wood Fired Pellet Smoker and Grill! Here’s the Amazon link…www.amazon.com/dp/B0BS6BM5VF?...
I think it's interesting that so many of the partsh look like the ones you find in the name brand units. Thanks for the first look Tom. Looking forward to you telling us how it cooks...
I have a Country Smokers pellet grill, which I believe is the same design as the Asmoke and PitBoss. Can you tell me the size difference in the grilling area? Mine is locked away in storage at the moment.
Great video. Good constructive feedback. I agree that without compromising the function of the temperature reader, maybe it could be bent towards the back 45° I wonder if it can go to the opposite side of the heat source.
Tom U Da Man! Thanks for all the videos. I think I'm gonna get this little grill too. Is there a way to manually adjust the setpoint of the controller temp input up or down to compensate for the variance? like a potentiometer/rheostat on the circuit board?
@@cangrilopezwhat did you do about a smoker then? Are you getting one like this? My recipe says I paid $323 after taxes. Hopefully this thing is worth it
I looked up replacement parts for King Chii and almost all are Traeger interchangeable which makes me that much more tempted to buy. Wally has on sale for $256 currently.
$235 gamble. Replacing a 5 year old pb340 that has clipping issue. The height is a concern but think will work. Bigger surface area and 2nd shelf sold me for the cost.
Been digging and cannot find an answer maybe you can help? I bought the King Chii KPG-341 only complaint it only has the one rack for cooking and a second top rack be added?
What about the "smoke" setting? I just got a Damniss which is exactly like the king chii and I want to smoke some meat but when put on the smoke setting temps drop and it doesn't smoke much. Am I doing something wrong or is that not a useful setting.
Thanks for Watching Shawn! I think youre using correctly, I’ve always stated that no,matter what brand of pellet grill they all have a light to medium smoke profile
@tom I just picked one of these up on Facebook marketplace for 150 bucks putting it to use tonight. Kind of watched your video in a few others how to do it. My brother is a smoker and got his help again I ran into some trouble with the temperature. Think it was what you’re saying about the probe did you make a video on how you fixed that issue, if so, could you please let me know and what was the site I could find replacement parts for this item
Nice overview Tom. Question, do you notice a big difference in flavor from the B&B hickory lump vs the oak? I love the oak lump and briquettes but my Ace does not carry the hickory. I might have them order me a bag to try out if so. I just had them order me some char logs and have yet to test those out
Is there anyway to hook up a grate clip and extend the thermometer to the center, or where you want it for that matter??….maybe a diff thermometer could plug in the controller somehow to be relocated… if you do this n find out let’s us know
It will be interesting to see if isolating the temperature probe from the direct heat of the burn pot solves the actual/set point discrepancy. It’s no surprise the parts on these pellet grills are interchangeable. This one looks just like the one from the “T” brand except for the price.
Could you make like an aluminum foil snake and stuff it between the grate and wall front to back to block the excessive heat getting to the probe? Would be easier than trying to relocate the probe.
Pitboss has the same problem and I have seen metal plates that bolt onto the heat diffuser over the burn pot that seal off the heat from going up the drip pan to the temp probe.
Do you know what the "2023 upgrade" was? I am looking at Walmart website with one on sale, but I can't tell if it is the new design - whatever that is.
Thanks for Watching! Yes, battery operated and corded pellet smokers, have yet to use one though. Was recently looking at there pizza oven since it’s on sale
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ curios if you fig out a fix on it. My first thought when I saw the hopper blow the thermostat gauge was gonna have some temperature issues.
