I was an American born in 1991; I remember this band when I was like 8 or 9 years old. I was also into other British electronic acts like Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Apollo 440, Prodigy and the Dutch group Alice Deejay; and a whole bunch of other European electronic groups I haven't heard in nearly two decades. My family listened to country music, but this kind of music was new to me and sounded so cool and futuristic. Everyone thought I was a weirdo.

Surrender literally changed my life. I think I had it on high rotation for many, Many years... and I still come back to it like it was released just recently. An all time album, an all time track, and I will never ever tire of listening to this or any other track on the album. PS. young Rosario Dawson...... OMFG.

this song means so much to me. As a musician it was my first introduction to analog synths, and got me into making music. It literally changed every preconception i had of music. 1999 was one hell of a year. every other year since hasnt compared to the creative output of that year, at least in my lifetime.

Once upon a time there was a jukebox in a pub where we used to play pool back then. Loud jukebox with Surrender on the list. Everything else there was garabage. This album costs me much more there, than if I'd bought 10 originals. I played it over and over and can't get enough. Barmaids there hated us. This comes back to me, everytime i hear this track. Those times are gone, those friends are gone, pub continuously morphed into aerobicfitness center, but this song and album remains great. Life is good

I remember this single coming out after Hey Boy, Hey Girl and Let Forever Be (that dominated the summer of ‘99) exactly some weeks before the G8 summit in Seattle (the battle of Seattle). Damn those were the days…I was 13, no smartphones, Nokia 3210 came out months before, I spent the whole summer with my friends playing snakes on the phone of some older brother or sister, internet was a myth, Napster came out that summer and only few knew about it, we were packed with CDs and boomboxes, few had a Sony discman (the year after became popular and affordable). MTV was always on background. Without social networks, we were politically engaged and we used to listen to older people, we were afraid of being globalised, we wanted a social change. This video sums those 2 years perfectly and it was one of my fav together with Manu Chao (the perfect album). Then 2001 came, the G8 summit in Genova, Black Bloc, Carlo Giuliani… almost 2 months later the terror attack at the World Trade Center happened. And then, my friend, we fucked up everything.

I have just 8 years and watch this in MTV! Some years later I watch "The Test" too. In this time I don't know nothing about Chemical Brothers, eletronic music, Rosario Dawson, Richard Ashcroft or about LIFE. But the sounds and the images stay in my mind. Years later, I rewatch this and fall in love again. I'm a big fan of Rosario, Richard and Chemical Brothers, and don't known they are togheter and they are in my childhood!!! This is really special too me.

Man, this brings back a bit of my youth. Driving to work in a '92 Mitsubishi Gallant with an awesome sound system installed. This song blaring, along with copious amounts of caffeine and ephedrine, would jack me up so much that I'd notice my speed-o buried past 140mph, ...,in a 55 zone! This album was a personal safety hazard when I was young, lol.

La electrónica de mitad de los 90s era super vanguardia. Ahora estamos atrasados musical e intelectualmente. Digo estamos pero en realidad la vanguardia siempre la encabeza la juventud y los jóvenes actuales no quiero decir que son descerebrados pero sus conductas no hablan muy bien de ellos. La tecnología les comió el cerebro y la rebeldía. Da tristeza decirlo.
