Most of you people have no clue what this band is about. Maybe you're too damn young. In the Sixties, there were lots of so-called "garage bands." They were a precursor to the punk bands of the late Seventies and allowed kids to form bands with little equipment and musical training. And a lot of them were great, if only for a song or two. (Check out the "Nuggets" compilation.) The C. Kings, along with bands like the Cynics and the Lyres, are keeping this great music alive. Pure rock.
This is soooo cool to see them getting attention. I remember about 1000 days in the mid 90's when I would make trips to the HOG (House Of Guitars) and hang out. One of these guys was always working. zOMG I miss those days! Long live the HOG.
this was done in 2004...I saw them @ the Chance in Poughkeepsie and Little Stevens Underground Fest in NYC that year...Andy B. lookin' like Brian Jones, wrote the Beatles Gear book,Greg Prevost with the Johnny Thunders bird nest hairdo writes for Ugly Things Mag.......haven't seen 'em since, where did you go guys?? we miss ya! play @ the Bearsville Theatre.!
Sorry, I was referring to Coldplay steaing the melody line from "Computer Love." I think I posted a comment somewhere else about being blown away seeing the C.K.s' video for "99th Floor" on Night Flight in the mid 80s. Plus I even tried smoking Chesterfield Kings once just because of them (bloody awful cigarettes, but cool package).
Trust me, nobody rips off Kraftwerk. maybe The Normal, but not Kraftwerk. Anyway, those were interesting times and influence could have come from a stray dog`s arse.
