No. The chickens really don't need any heat unless it gets significantly below 0 degrees. The most important thing to do is keep them free of cold breezes.
I definitely don't mind. The run itself was about $300 when I purchased it. That includes all the chicken wire which comes with it. The coop itself was about $475. It was hand made by a person in Maine. There are of course various other costs like the hardware wire for the edges to keep critters from digging under the run to eat the chickens. 🐔
