Patrick Mahomes has the same mindset as Tom Brady did. He's a multi-millionaire, team friendly QB! He understands that in order to continue winning Superbowls, there must be enough money to spend on the talent that's needed for a Superbowl caliber team. The front office and his agent are marvelous at keeping him happy and creating a great team. The Chiefs are very fortunate that Mahomes is not a greedy, me-first player. He may not have the #1 QB contract, but he's still the top-paid QB in the NFL overall!

I LOVE that Mahomes isn't top-paid. It should be seen as a cheat code for rings, just like Brady had. Mahomes's deal at the time was the highest ever when he signed, and now looks like team-building genius. If I'm Patrick, I'm very happy with the money I already have guaranteed, and I love that other teams are overpaying. I think it's BS from a Chiefs POV to be griping about what he's being paid. Paying him meaninglessly more money hurts KC's competitive edge. I'd rather see him win more rings than Brady. I'm swimming against the current on this. My POV is bad for parity and good for dynasties. Unbeatable combo to have the winningest QB being paid less than greedy QBs elsewhere. Brady did it for years.

Agree! The more other QB's are paid, the less they can pay for weapons. It doesn't matter how good a QB is if he doesn't have any weapons to throw to. We have Kelce and now Brown on team friendly deals, despite having earned more, because they feel the same way as Mahomes.

That mistake on the inside of the ring shanks is fixable. Jostens has the jewelers and the precision tech to make that repair fairly easily. Not a huge deal.

Some poor little admin or tech will take the fall for it even though higher ups should also proof any design before having it made. Not sure on which side, but it's always the lowest on the totem pole who takes the fall. I once worked at a place that gave out awards. We were sent the layout to proof, then a prototype, etc. I proofed them, but they also went to my boss for the final okay. And that's just one side. The manufacturing company/jeweler would also have practices to ensure the design is correct. But it'll be a low-level employee who gets in trouble.

Indeed. There are coins worth up to 25K because of errors and there can be hundreds (or thousands) of them depending on how long the mint let them run. Won't happen soon but eventually these rings could be worth millions. Fewer than 100~ unique rings are produced and some recipients get less valuable versions. They are also personalized for the 53 man roster and top executives so are exceedingly rare to begin with. The aftermarket rings on the gold and silver sites look to be roughly 30k - 300k I think but surely you can get Singapore clones to go with your $20 Rolex.

The season itself was far from perfect, and I think it's fitting that the ring is the same. Plus, the Dolphins' performance was so terribly forgettable that I'm not surprised nobody remembered they were actually the 6th seed.

Mahomes redid his last year and pulled money forward so he had the highest 4 year total when they did it but because it's 10 years it doesn't look like he's at the top. 3 or 4 of those other teams are going to regret their deals & Mahomes & the Chiefs will never regret his deal.

People forget when MaHomes signed that 10year deal he said "I wanted the team to have money to bring in other players." He knew he was leaving money on the Table but making up for that loss in ADS and INDORSEMENTS. Teams who keep paying their players these record amounts are IDIOTS. You need to have the cap space to pay EVERYONE. If they gave Pat 60 mill or whatever they couldn't afford to keep some of the other key players. It's super simple mathematics! QBs should be taking one for the team and winning a ring BEFORE they demand to be highly paid. (Also some QB suck so it doesn't matter how much you over pay them they will never get you to a SB)

Looking at the list on that ring just shows how much more impressive of a SB run last season was (as far as who we had to go through), 2022 was a legacy builder for Mahomes and last season capped off the Dynasty run to make it official and this year if we 3 Peat will be both a legacy builder for Mahomes and our Team (it would make us the greatest team to ever play with the Greatest QB to ever play).

The Hunt family can afford it. Clark should order that a new set of rings be made, and have everyone who received one return the original. Then take the originals, melt them down, and use the money from the melted down rings and give it to some charity. That would be the magnanimous thing to do. I did a whole video on Mahomes contract back in the day when I was doing videos, what people don't understand is even is Mahomes never restructured his deal he's still gonna make more then any other qb ever in just his salary. No qb active or retired have or will ever make half a billion in contract money. Mostly because they almost never collect their full amount, they either don't live up to the hype n are cut or it's restructured for less. Mahomes will collect all that half a billion and we know they will still restructured it for more. But even if they didn't he will make more then any qb in his career vs theirs so it won't matter that some crap qb made more money one season on paper, that foo probably be out the league in a few yrs and making zero while Mahomes still making 50mill.

It was a mistake make on the SB rings, but it made the SB rings much rarer because it probably the only SB rings have a flaw.

No, they won't have to get remade. This is a relatively simple error to correct. More than likely, Josten's will take all the rings back for a short time to correct the issue. The process isn't much different than resizing the ring down to a smaller size. They will use a filler material to fill in the #7 and re-engrave the #6. If I had to guess, most of, if not all, the players didn't get to take their rings home last night. They likely held the ceremony because it was too late to postpone it, with a plan in place to fix it already.

With every endorsement Mahomes gets, it's one less endorsement the other QBs could get. Heck, even Rogers and the former Browns QB are no longer insurance pitchman. I bet with his third ring, Mahomes's pricetag just went up.

I personally think that the NFL is doing this on purpose. The NFL doesn't want Patrick Mahomes to win so they are making it as difficult as possible period starting with the Russell Wilson contract in Denver. Patrick Mahomes has set himself that the money really doesn't matter. And I believe this because he's making a lot more money off the field

It is a minor mistake, but good god, 40k for a ring that has a typo is insane. Sometimes simple is better, I guess this is what happens when you have a ring with so much on it. I hope no one has ocd.

KC is a football TEAM and at what point do the rest of the players seeing Mahomes raking in, say 20 to 25 times what they might be making, go, "So what am I chopped liver?" Mahomes is also making more money off the field (approx $20 million per year) than everyone else on the team except for Kelce and Chris Jones. As some have said, Mahomes might someday become a billionaire, "Please KC, DON'T FORGET TO PAY THE REST OF THE TEAM that got you those 3 Super Bowl trophies.

Not great News Chiefs would consider Kansas as a location. Chiefs were worth no more than $25,000-dollar franchise, when moving to Kansas City, MO. Now Chiefs worth 4.5 billion on the support of Kansas City, MO taxpayers for 60 years. The Kansas City, MO taxpayers went through lots of lien years in losing football seasons, and we never abandoned the Chiefs in our support with our tax dollars. I had voted "Yes" for stadiums. Do Chiefs need Dome stadium in Kansas City, MO ? A lot detail went into the Superbowl rings, that was correct, the 7th seed mistake on rings will just be a great topic. Several people probably looked over the design of Rings before being approved.

Wondering if you could put a price tag on Superbowl wins? What about playoff game bonuses/checks? I am sure Patrick is JUST FINE with his money and wants more rings... but when comparing say, Herbert, who has been to 1? playoff game. the added bonuses and checks Patrick gets for playing those extra games should also be factored in.

It's a team sport. What would happen if the top player on the team took 10% less money. They could then sign a number of one year free agents. Guys that want a ring and can get a bag next year. If you make 50 to 75 million during your career and win more games than anyone in history. Your off the field income would go crazy. Remember currently 20% of the team (ten guys) takes 80% of the income. How good of team would you have if the top 20% took 70% of the money and you could spend take 25 million on 3 high quality one year deal who want a ring. Who wouldn't want a 4-peat ring?

Whatever Mahomes makes in endorsements / off the field is IRRELEVANT to his deserving salary…which has to be at the top #1. Same with Kelce all these years. Chiefs will appreciate Mahomes’ sacrifice and contribution, and I think they will make good the gap in coming years…whenever the opportunity to do so without hurting the roster.
