Absolutely fabulous and joyous...I was chuffed to promote the Chieftains at the Edinburgh Pop Festival in 1973 ....they were sensational and and absolute joy to work with. Oh the memories...💚👍

Rest in joy as well as peace, Paddy! You left us gifts that will never die! October 12, 2021.

How good to just enjoy 18 mins out of a lifetime of Paddy and the lads brought to the world…..requiescat in pace Paddy.

Paddy left us a few days ago. The standard of music in heaven will receive a new dimension. RIP good man, great music maker, giver of joy to the world.

And so we say farewell to Paddy, but there'll be a part of Heaven that's just received another fine Irish musician to join the dubs, clancy brothers all the way back to Turlough O' Carolan, Heaven's goin to be rocking tonite.....RIP Paddy, and thank you 👍

My father still listens to the Chieftains, and used to all the time when I a kid. Listening to them is one of my earliest memories. Now at least half of the songs on my IPod are The Chieftains.

This really made my day in the midst of a stretch of hard times.Very reminiscent of their set at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in SF last month. I've been a Chieftains fan since about 1975 and once helped Paddy find his way back to his hotel after post-concert shenanigans at a show where they barely filled 2/3 of a local civic auditorium. Mighty craic!

A new approach to world peace: upload the Chieftains' music to communications satellites and downplay it to every antenna non the planet. It's happy-happy-happy-making music.

Sweet music played with ultimate perfection. Awesome music by great people. The Chieftains rock!!!

think the first reel was mcloud`s reel...only paddy from the original group back to ceoltoiri chualann.....great musician paddy...his piping inspired so many and he was the first piper in a group format long before the others.

Beautifull, touches celtic influences in many ways, although missing the celtic heritage of Britany and Galicia this is superb, hey, maybe next time.......pretty sure WGBH would be OK with that!

sad to see this great group the chieftains to diminished by time. where is sean keene here?i know martin left the group right after Derek bells death, then also Michael tubridy,sean potts,pedar mercier,one or two others. they are still my favorite group and it is good to see old paddy,kevin,matt still at it. wish they could go one forever!!bobby whitaker
