Many thanks for the nice demo of the Bovenkerk choir organ, Paul. Maybe it should be mentioned here that this instrument was a generous gift from one of the Kampen burghers, Mr Henk Stoel, in 1999. Not long before the firm of Reil had completed the restauration of the wonderful Bader organ in Zutphen (Paul, please note) on the IJssel river upstream from Kampen, which inspired some of the mensurae and voicing of the Kampen choir organ. It is regrettable that the Bovenkerk is no longer in use for regular worship and, in fact, as a building is currently in very poor condition, sadly putting the Hinsz organ at risk of damage. It would be wonderful if the two instruments were once again used in the context of Sunday worship, glorifying God with a joyful noise!
I have seen some recent videos on the Bovenkerk channel of what looks like major restoration. Statues were being moved, and there were cranes and scaffolding inside. From Chicago, U.S.A.
Fits perfectly with the acoustics of the church, just like the Hintz organ. (Bach would sound great , say with a small group and a singer or two). You are giving Dr. Balint Karosi, some competition with your demonstrations. From Chicago, U.S.A.
Mooi begeleidings koororgel !
Just beautiful, Paul. This instrument gives witness to the statement, Sum parvus, sed potens"! Such a big sound, and yet a very nice instrument for accompanying either choir or small congregation. I always appreciate these demonstrations. Thank you!
Quite an impressive instrument to be the choir organ. Beautiful full rich baroque sound. Your demonstration and comments are very informative and precise. The special trumpet keyboard is very unique. Thanks for presenting this very special organ today. Full organ is magnificent ! Thanks, Paul.
Absolutely fantastic sound, it's the third time I listen to the demonstration of this choir organ ❤❤❤ Your tutti improvisation switching from one keyboard to another with the pedal accompagnement is so splendid, a great bravo dear Paul !!
Hello Paul! Your tutti demonstration is amazing! i was wondering if that's an improv of yours or is it an actual piece? That demo is just too hard to ignore!
Although I arrived late to the premiere, it was worth watching the video already recorded, I was impressed with this wonderful Kampen organ, with such a richness of sound mixtures, a jewel in the hands of the great master Paul is a diamond polished with primor. Thank you for your contributions, which makes us so happy to be lovers of the musical art of organ building. A hug from the east of the Kingdom of Spain. 🤝💗
Thank you Paul! That was wonderful. I've always thought that the designation of "small organ" is hardly appropriate for the excellent Reil as there would be many churches that would be well pleased to have it as their main organ.
Paul, I love the new format for your videos and this is a very special organ to me. I remember a recording of a preludium in C major by George Bohm on this organ from when I was a child. What a wonderful and bright sound! Thank you for this most recent addition to your archive, and to the majesty of this beautiful organ. Don't suppose if you get the chance you could play that piece could you?
