Here it is. After eight-and-a-half years, The Chris Moyles Show has come to an end. This is the last ever item from Chris and the team... the final moments of the last show.
The Chris Moyles Show has helped me through one of the most difficult periods in my life. I listen to it when I'm sad, angry, depressed, frightened... it's like an audio comfort blanket. And like everyone else has been saying, it's like losing my very best friends. I'll still be tuning in whenever I like with the ridiculous collection of podcasts I've amassed, but this truly is the end of an era. Can't wait to see where they go next - because knowing Chris, the story is DEFINITELY not over! :) x
I think I cried live on the telly and got loads of Twitter hate because of it. I remember sitting at Oxford services on the M40 reading as many as I could. Made me smile x
8 years has been a big part of my life and the Chris Moyles show has been there for me; especially in the mornings when I was on my way to a horrible workplace. Lots of love to you all and thank you x
No, Radio one died long before then, got even worse when Matthew Bannister took over and got shot of most of the classic DJ's that I enjoyed listening to in the 70's and 80's. I couldn't stand Chris Evans or Moyles. In my own personal opinion, it all started to decline in 1989.
I shed a tear or two when they started singing this morning. It's been a great ride all these years which will be thoroughly missed. I never tuned in for the music as you can get that anytime on any other station. I tuned in for the Laughs and Banter which you never really got anywhere else.
What a great time on air... evening to mornings, i've listened all the way. A lot of time has passed and a lot of things have happened since you started from 9/11 to Prince Williams and Kate getting married, but what ever the event or situation, you have picked the nation up from its feet every day since the day you started. Pity every good thing has to come to an end but your a legend in your own right and should of never left the air. No one will ever replace you chris and the team. (1/2)
Goodbye team, present and past, mornings will never be the same again you've been with me since i started my job. You've brought many tears and laughter moments and you certainly left me with tears. Thank you
Thank you Chris Moyles and the rest of the team for all the great shows. I bawled the whole way through the last half hour of the show this morning. You offered something that few others could replicate. All the best for the future, you will be a hard act to follow!
I started listening to Chris Moyles when I was about 13. I am now 18 and was still loving it! I loved all the banter and the laughs, and the fact that it felt like I knew them all personally. The so called 'younger' target audience have many other radio shows to listen to, and as their target audience I still chose radio 1!
I think people who listen every day will love the show. I love the team because they are not trying to do be proper DJ's and get everything right or play music back to back... It's the randomness in conversation which makes it fresh every day. I listened to him for 6 years and it seems like you start to know them as friends, and you think you know them so well! There are days that are rubbish and some days are gold. They just poke fun at each other which makes it even better!
I held it together until this song and then the tears flowed....8 and a half years I have driven to work listening to this show....a huge part of my life
20 minutes later, and I'm still crying. For EIGHT years, you've been such an incredible part of my life. I started out really hating the show, and found that it gave me everything I needed to survive the long dull afternoons, and then early morning drive to work. With the day book-eneded by Moyles and Mills, drive-time became something to look forward to. Goodbye team, you'll be missed more than I think you could realise.
I'm 15 and I loved the chris moyles show! I listened every morning for the past 8 years.. all my friends listened too! Radio One you've made a massive mistake. The stat's are going to fall so much now that you've done this! But as Chris is on contract until 2014 i hope Chris stays on the radio - was amazing when i met hi and the team! Thanks so much Chris and the team, i love you all!! xxx
Gonna miss listening to Chris Moyles and the team, they have been brilliant. My favourite bit of this video is when he walks out of the building saying "Goodbye Great Britain". At least I still got the other Chris (Evans) to listen too in the morning. It has been great with the two Chris's on at the same time since the beginning of this decade.
For the 5 years I was in high school I listen to Chris and the team from when I woke up right till I walked through the door for my first class. Every morning they would make me laugh and enjoyed listening. Getting up ready for college wont be the same now. Goodbye and Good Luck! I have a feeling Radio 1 will loose a lot of listeners now. They certainly have lost me.
Watching this brings tears to my eyes. For me, it's not just the fact that they've finished, it's seeing the audience joining in; every person in that audience is different (age, gender, home town, occupation, background...) yet, they're all there for Chris and his crew, because Chris' show entertained everyone regardless of where they were from or how old they were, and this truly is a work of art being able to host a show for the length of time he did, and such a large-scale variety of fans...
Gutted. My 45 mile drive to work was only bearable because of The Chris Moyles Show. I am a teacher and watched the last hour with my class. We were all crying at the end & the students all spontaneously applauded at the end. Radio One should be about ALL age groups; the fact that different generations can enjoy a show together should be celebrated not thrown away. Shame on you Radio 1. I, metaphorically, walked out the Radio 1 building behind Chris Moyles this morning and won't be going back.
I'm 20 years old and I've listened to Chris Moyles Show everyday since it began, I've lived it through school college and my first days at work, you say that this show doesn't target a young audience seeing some of these comments I think your in for a shock and even younger viewers are saying they will switch off after today THIS will damage your ratings. Anyway this is about THE CHRIS MOYLES SHOW. Thanks for the memories, inspiration from the bottom of my heart I will miss you all and good luck
Wow at just 17 years old and seeing him go is sad! I was brought up my whole life with listening to him on the radio in mornings on way to school and college!! Gonna miss him and now wont be listening to radio 1 in the mornings...!
Thanks you guys for years of fun. It's been great to have the show in my morning routine and the first hours of the work day. Hard to imagine never being able to listen to you again.
this actually made me a bit teary, its amazing how attached you get to radio shows without realising, i've been listening to the chris moyles show for 4 and half years. now that's gone i'll be tuning into a different show. well done radio 1 you've lost another listener of the breakfast show.
Remember listening to his afternoon shows at secondary school. Then all the adverts for his morning show came on and the first show I was doing my paper-round around about 10 years ago now, great times used to listen to him every morning!
Excellent exit, actually made me cry as i've listened to moyles start radio 1, weekends, afternoons, mornings and now his final show. very emotional when you've listened for so long it became part of every day life.
I'm currently sat at my work desk trying my hardest to hold back the tears. I'm going to miss you all so much. The best radio show there was, is and ever will be. The best of luck to all of you in whatever you do. You'll be forever in my heart xxxx
Emotional stuff, listened to this on the radio when it was the last show, it's taken me some weeks to watch the video, still seems hard to believe that Chris is off the air, a true legend of radio and the best breakfast show DJ ever. Mornings just aren't the same anymore.
Tissues at the ready, fingers steady! You guys have been such a big part of my life for the past three years. Through the hard times, I could always expect to get a good laugh from you. We will all miss you guys. Good luck in everything you do.
I listened to this show all the time on my way to school every morning. Never knew what any of them looked like. Havent listened to the show since 2010, moved onto radio 2, but i wish him the very best with his future.
Same here mate, living in Sweden since 7 years and the Chris Moyles show although sometimes made me homesick also made me smile with their humour and camaraderie.
Going out in style...great musical finish! Lets hope her maj recognises you for services to the radio industry, and lifting the nation for so many years, and rewards you one day...Sir Chirs! Forget the trolls, the haters, and the media numpties, you have been amazing, and on behalf of your loyal listeners and fans...THANK YOU!! Good luck to all of you and whatever you go on to do xx
Such a shame, the greatest DJ ever to grace radio one. Through the good times, through the bad times, moyles was always there to put a smile on my face in the morning. He's gonna be missed majorly!
The reason I switched to Radio 1 from my local ad crazy radio station was because of this man and his show. I felt like we're a group of close mates gathering every morning having a laugh and play some music while revising for my A Levels, doing my Coursework, Degree and driving into and listening at work. Chris Moyles and team made my morning and from 6:30am tomorrow, it will never be the same. However I wish Grimmy all the best, but it will not match or better The Chris Moyles Show.
Sad....I learned more about Britain listen the Chris Moyles show every morning then delivering packages all over the country. I own him great times listening the show going from London to Glasgow.
Travelling into work everyday at 6.30, this show made me smile at the start of my day. Had such a laugh and will sorely miss all the guys on the BEST breakfast show ever!
I hoped Chris and the team would do something special to say goodbye and, like the whole of the 7.5 years I was listening, they didn't disappoint! Chris and Team, I don't know if you'll ever read this, but thank you for being a part of my life for all these years, making me laugh and share your journey. It wasn't long enough. I had never texted or email, but made sure I did today. I listened from beginning to end. Goodbye Radio 1, I've moved to Heart. Cheerio and best wishes for the future.
Thanks for brilliant 8 and a half years, I now have no further reason to listen to Radio 1 so goodbye Radio 1! All that is left on the radio that can match the Chris Moyles Show is Asganaway on Radio Deejay, that's where I'll be tuning in from now on. Everyone is welcome to follow!
BEST COURSE OF ACTION: Switch off Radio 1 in the mornings and log in to Utube and watch all the clips of this amazing team of people who brought joy to a nation for many many years. The beauty of it is, you don't even need to watch the clips just listen, it's radio after all ;o) Good Luck to Chris, Aled, Dom, Dave, Tina, Roy and all the rest that embraced us.
Someone please hug me, I was lonely before this, I'll be even worse now...getting up won't be the same, but i hope i won't quite my job, i've always hated going into work in the dark, radio does alot for me especially chris moyles. The only plus about work is that i get on well with the people, but it's that getting up part, i can't do it with nick...maybe scott, sara or fearne yes.
Radio one lost me as a listener this morning, had already ditched the afternoon show when Millsy left and now there is NO reason for me to tune in anymore, thank God for ipod connection in my car!
Goodbye, Radio 1. I'm seventeen (so probably part of their target demographic) but to be quite honest, I don't want to listen to Grimmy on the breakfast show. I grew up listening to Moyles every morning before school and he made me be able to get through the day with a smile on my face. He's the only presenter I like and I won't listen to R1 without him. Thank you Chris for your years of dedication and all the best in the future. We will miss you dearly.
The first day i listened to Radio 1 was when you started and the last day i finished was today at 10am after your show had ended. Good luck for the future and i wish you all the best. (2/2)
I've been wanting to listen for years but I've always got the bus to school. I've been driving to school for 2 weeks now... So I only got to listen for 2 weeks... Cruel cruel world. Atleast I can say I listened to it anyway
I am sad that Chris Moyles and his team won't be there to make me laugh out loud any more on my way to work in the morning :( People who listen to him know how great he is and that he takes the mickey out of himself more than he does other people xx
Goodbye Radio 1. I only listened to Chris Moyles on Radio 1, only presenter I could stand listening to for more than 10 minutes and I'm in the demographic you so desperately want. Thank you Chris for all your hard work down the years and good luck.
It's not just about the guy, this is a goodbye song from The Crhis Moyles Show, it's a team effort. I for one will miss the boyish humour, the pranks, the comedy.
