Interesting facts I just looked up about groundhog hibernation. Their metabolic activity slows down so extensively that they don't need food or water, their heart rate slows down to 5 beats per minute and their body temp goes down to around 38 degrees fahrenheit. Sleep well dear Chunks until Feb or March....
Winter chunk land! Yes !!! I will enjoy all of the wild creatures taking part in sharing chunk generosity while they are away on their sleepcation. Thank you for the simple joy, Jeff.
Chunk has to be one of the healthiest groundhogs ever. I’d say that most groundhogs don’t get to eat such a wide variety of fruits & veggies. It would cost a fortune to feed him if he didn’t have his own garden. I just love watching him eat!

Hibernating already? I live in Florida so I can not relate at all! I'm still waiting for Fall to arrive forget about winter. Hopefully in spring we'll see even more chunks!

I absolutely love the very beginning!! Chunk popup. i couldn't do the challenge. I just can't be that messy. I'd be grabbing a napkin or paper towel. I could do the ones where they are kinda hidden behind the food and ya just see their cheeks moving, but I don't think that would win. I could try quickly biting down on an apple and running to the back door. Nope..that would be too embarrassing. LOL Good luck to all the messy eaters that enter.
This Chunk Challenge should be interesting and hilarious at the same time! I think the other wildlife will keep us entertained with the "Winter Wonderland" especially Pesty and Chili!
Gardener Jeff, in the future, would it be possible to get a life sized picture cut out of you to put around the Chunk area (like the Scarecrow but bigger) so the the Chunks can get used to seeing you? Maybe you could get a few for different locations, or you could rig something up so that your hand has food in it and they would be eating from your hand then....who knows maybe someday they will do it in real life. Just a thought. Love You and what you have done for all the Chunks!
I think it would take a brave soul to take on the Chunk. He eats FAST!!! I think if I had to challenge him it would be with an ear of corn!! I'll pass though, I'd probably get choked!!!
Whats really funny is i watch other videos and when i stop to get something to eat, i actually come to eat with chunk...LMAO. Its like we eat together.
