The art style definitely reminds me of Marathon, as well as the implied lore of artificial intelligence false gods. Tycho was one of the main A.I. characters in the Marathon Trilogy. The game also reminds me of Baroque, which involves a citadel tower and false angels. EDIT: Pattern buffers!
There was an old mod for Doom that was meant to turn into a Metal Slug total conversion, turned every hitscan enemy into projectile shooters and this felt alot like that. Especially the occasional reaction you get when you melt someone with the flamethrower.
While I genuinely enjoy this game, I've never seen or found a trailer for it online. The lack of attention could definitely stem from that. Thanks to Gman, I found out this existed.
shame you didn't mention the effects of the flamethrower on the enemies. these screams are burned into my mind. also, regarding the soundtrack, there are links to almost every song in the readme file in the game's folder.
Do you know if this game has mods? The HUD sucks for me being vision impaired. Usually not an issue for these types of games because larger text to copy the style of games that inspire th double up as an accessibility feature.
This may be late, but there are options that allow you to make your hud larger. Not sure if it makes it big enough to work for you personally, but it does increase the size quite a bit.
Love the old school 90's anime style to it Also i will go ahead and say its based for being one of the rare games to have blood and guts apply to mostly women for a change ans not just just exclusively men
>DUDE WHAT IF ANGELS WERE ACTUALLY DEMONS AND DEMONS WERE ACTUALLY ANGELS LMAO It just wouldn't be a proper boomer shooter if you didn't combine fun gameplay and mechanics with a story/background that is little more than an afterthought.
I don't know about the "controversy" don't care either, I just really like the gunplay and art style. Seriously has my favorite guns in a retro shooter. They actually feel like ummm..... guns.
This looks like a game that has lots of potential but could have benefited greatly from a proper, professional level designer (or even a phonecall to the Duke Nukem / Ion Fury map designers). The maps all look so seamlessly bland like hundreds of "this game didn't succeed" early 90's FPS clones. You can tell there are certain aspects with a TON of hard work on them (the guts explosions, the weapon handling, etc) and then huge blots of lack of effort. Like a painting that has entire sections with no ink. I mean look at that view. 4:27. That view is not 'artistic'. It's 'alpha'. So yeah, lots of potential if this guy works on the rest of his game. Otherwise, it looks very lopsided! Great review!
played this game. good experience, but the game end so bland and empty i felt the game wasn't complete... when i realized the game WAS the compelte version i felt so disapointed... would play again in the future, but i realy wished some updates for the game. maybe an expansion ou maybe the dev could at least do a continuation.
@@czarnakoza9697 not like it's bad if true (i think it is, even if unintentionally), but for some people (me included) lives a weird aftertaste. Some people can't play GTA cus' of pedestrians screams, same here
