...yknow, it only just clicked that the name Nome is derivative of Metronome, and that name was carried over directly into little nightmares as a homage. It's not just the word Gnome without the G. This never occurred to me once until right this second
One other major influence on the game was Momo, a surrealist fantasy novel from the 1970’s, that had a hand in the game’s themes. It’s very likely that the influence carried on to LN as well, since it was a critique of industrialization and consumerism, and the how children are subject to their consequences. Plus there’s some similar character relationships. Momo been adapted in both animation and live action as well, and I highly suggest any diehard Tarsier follower to check em out!
This is an interesting topic to cover! No matter how many times this is brought up I will always feel extremely disappointment. Thank you for uploading this video and making it more known to LN fans.
Ngl this got me wondering: If tarsier actually went through with this idea and made the city of metronome instead of little nightmares, would i become as big of a fan as THAT game as i am with LN? Would i even give the game a chance? Would i like metronome EVEN MORE than LN? I guess we'll never know
WAIT, so we still don't know anything about the "Corporation", its origins and its purpose? Urgh!! I was SO hoping to have at least few hints about what the actual hell was going on in Little Nightmares' world! ... I'm afraid we'll never know. I guess that maybe the developers have never known either. Great video, this was so interesting!
I think Little Nightmares 2 was meant as that game based on the City of Metronome. It's possible that Nomes are made with a different kind of magic in Little Nightmares and that at some point in the Pale City it would lead to a train station or other mode of transportation that leads to it. If I recall most of the Tarsier Studios games are in the same universe (hence the name Statik for one of the TV songs) so it's possible that they're all just affected by different kinds of monsters and creatures. Though honestly I think they really mastered the grungy feel of LN compared to their more visually simpler games
Seeing this pop up on my front page was a really welcomed surprise and made my day, your videos are very informative and relaxing. Glad to see a new upload from you.
At this point, Little Nightmares is far more ambitious for its deep complex original lore, but as this is from the same creators, it looks good and would have been fun to experience its interesting story. I would have liked to play it.
Too bad it was never released.... It would be nice to actually know the origins of the nowhere before the corporation destroyed everything with the signal tower and just knowing what is going on with everything in general....
Did you use Blender to create the animation of Six being sucked into the TV at 0:09? The animation is impressive! Also, two thumbs up 👍👍 for the animation of Little Nightmares, The Stretchers, Static, and City of Metronome TV broadcast! Last but not least, happy birthday to Six! Honestly, each character on Little Nightmares should have birthdate, so I assign Six's birthday on May 2nd, which is also Misaka Mikoto's birthday (To Aru Kagaku no Railgun main character). The reason is Six and Misaka Mikoto have similarities: • serious-looking face • wearing shorts under her skirt/raincoat • have short hair • with the right camera angle, pose of Six holding lighter can be similar to Misaka Mikoto's Railgun pose 😁🤭
Does anyone know how to code or 3d model bc i want to recreate the beta or little nightmares (hunger) or city of metronome if you know how to do these comment and i will tell you my discord
