They created such beautiful music together. Their songs continue to bring comfort even years after disbanding.

i completly understand they are happily married with other people, but it is a statistic that musical partnership brings people together more than anything..the way they sing with eachother, look at eachother, and make these amazing songs is unbelievable..it looks like they are in love..even if they cant admit it to themselves.

The look at all the popstars with huge scenes of lights and dancers and whatever they need to be someone. This is like pure talent, and proove that simple things are still the best you could have.

Just love how raw and unedited this video, and how carefree and beautiful the song is. These guys really need to get back together. No one compares to them.

I deal with some chronic illnesses that leave me couch bound some days, and the only thing that gives me the energy and joy to get me through those days is these two. They have so much talent and both of their voices are beautiful.

I think this is one of my top 3 favourite songs of theirs. I love them ALL, but Forget Me Not is a sweet positive gem in the sea of hauntingly beautiful yet tragic melodies. I'd want this to be the song I dance to at my wedding if I ever get married.

I love it too! It just goes to show that you don't need a crazy expensive music video or auto tuning/editing to make you sound amazing! They really are amazing artists unlike most people who dominate the radio and charts! I love them! I love that its so easy to assume they are 'in love' with each other because you can tell they have such amazing chemistry!

Saw them live at HOB in Boston with Adele. I was immediately smitten and have been in full blown, crazy, inconvenient, longing and amazing love with them ever since!!!

The Civil Wars have the sound that makes you really appreciate music and raw talent. They don't rely on auto tune, just sweet, simple harmonies with a naturally perfect pitch.

the thing i love most about this video? no microphones. just their voices, perfectly in sync with one another in every possible way. The Civil Wars play the kind of music that vibrates my soul, in the best possible way.

it baffles my mind that they aren't married. i just don't get how you can sing such passionate, romantic songs with someone you're not "involved" with and still make it sound so genuine.

Honestly I'd listen to either of them separately but together they're just.. amazing, unique, inspiring. They harmonize so perfectly that I'd literally be happy to just listen to them for the rest of my life, ahah!

to everyone argueing about this music's genre it is country - Pure & Simple. it has hints of 1930's Great Depression influence in it due to the harmonies etc.. but still it fits into the country genre & honestly who cares, enjoy the music :)

just started listening to this band and I already love them.

Most real music videos dub the music & vocals in, using a studio track so there's no wind or technical issues. That they didn't do this in this video allows us to see how really good they are LIVE, crummy camera microphone, gusty wind, and all. Cool!

I get anxiety watching her walk across that. Seriously, this video with that view is pretty cool. Love the song. Discovered them on the Grammy's tonight. So, so happy I did. I think they're going to be a favorite of mine for a long time to come.

Oh man...I fall more and more in love with the two of them the more I see them. Their harmonies are just perfect. John Paul White is just...he's dreamy and his voice is one of the best I've heard. And Joy's voice is an amazingly wonderful match to his, and vise versa :)

Of all their videos, this is the one where it most seems that JP is singing directly to Joy. And vice versa, of course. Beautiful. Two very different people, I think, despite the supernatural vocal affinity they had. Hopefully they'll reconsider and work out some way to make some music together. This would make a lot of people very happy. And they'd probably get paid, too. As music pros, they should be able to figure it out.

Their sound is a "Civil War" era sound and its absolutely haunting and beautiful. My boyfriend are huge history buffs, especially the Civil War, and recently I have wanted to find something sounding like them, soooooo glad I did! They're incredible, I've never heard something so amazing !!

how and why do you throw away this magic? the chemistry, the magic, the smiles of joy (no pun intended). I will never understand why people as special as these can end their musical relationship due to an issue/s. in my view, no matter what they do after the breakup they will never achieve what they had and for that I will always be sad and frustrated. And even if someone try to entice them to get back together, it is probably too late and they would let their egos get in the way. What a shame!

whoever does not like them does not truly understand the art of music. to be a true lover of music you have to respect the art and passion of the artist and the individual piece to say you do not like it just because it is country is naive and sad because you will wind up missing out on a lot of powerful songs and they have amazing harmony

@lovethatmonk They're not from Birmingham, but have played at Workplay a few times and most recently they played the Alabama Theatre. He is from Muscle Shoals and she is from Nashville by way of California.

I've been hooked on them ever since iTunes had a free download of Barton Hollow. It's one of the few songs on a constant repeat on my iPod. So amazingly talented. Love them.
