well I do have the whole video and this doesn't show Jacky's state of confusion, but when they pan out and show the girls dancing, look at Jacky's footwork and compare to Dorinda. CLEARLY! looool
I dont think people are realizing what they are watching. Back when this song was recorded, people were not dancing like this in Gospel. This was considered taboo in the 80's. The Clark Sisters were nearly thrown outta the church for the little dance steps they used to do to "Balm in Gilead" back in the early 80's. My have times have changed. I have seen a video where Twinkie said that someone said to her when she wrote this song: "That song aint no Gospel song, not with that kinda beat."
The word says make a joyful noise unto him. It's not about mixing the world in the church; it's about reaching out to the world and winning souls for the lord. Sometimes you have to leave what's tradition, as long as you follow doctrine.

I think at :25 it's Angel who is being held by Jacky's husband. It's funny that Karen is pregnant with J.Drew in this concert. This is the only footage of her pregnant back in the 80's. I knew a couple of months ago (thanks to youtube) that we would see one of the Clark sisters performing with child back in the day.
The Clark Sisters Reunion Tour was in Milwaukee Wisconsin on 10-06-07 and each sis sang their hearts out. So please attend if they visit a city near you!

Well I said nothing about shouting off the music and my Pastor doesn't say tell your neighbor anything. Anyway I feel we judge those who are giving their gift to God and giving us some gospel music. We would most likely sing another song if it was us or even one of our relatives or close friend.
You rigth Kin. People stay screamin "hater" when you express an opposing opinion. It's a clear FACT that Jacky was trying to figure out what the heck to do and what foot to get on. GEESH! People act like you can't say NOTHING bad about them and then it wasn't even THAT bad.
to the person that said twinkie is not all that talented . dude she taught them and wrote most of the song for the sister . and if compared she and karen sound just the same. you need to hear the other sister neicy she was a bad girl . she sound just like them too. be blessed
I don't think they are more worldly. I think its just the time change. They are from Detroit and have always been flashy but you wouldnt wear now what you wore in 1989. They did their moves back then and they still do them now. In our churches the shouting music doesn't sound like it did in the 80's but that doesn't make it worldly.

Now I see why thier voices are so much Stronger sitting still. It's because back in the day, they danced and sang at the same time. Now Thats A WORKOUT!!! Lol.
Ok, all you "Clarkaholics" can we keep this thing real?!! At one point, Karen was a duplex, Twinkie was a mini mall, Jackie was a Cul'de"sac and Dorinda was at least a one bed-room flat! They had surgery yall....period! It's their business, but don't try and act as though what we see is all natural. What we see is NOT what their husbands and family see in the morning. Why do you think the alternative community flocks to karen so much?!!...She looks like a drag queen!...DUH!
Duh! we know they don't get up looking like that. We look different from when we first get up to when we walk out the door. Karen is a powerful women of God and her ministry has been a blessing in my life. I think she looks wonderful. Some of us need to do more listening and less judging. And posting bad comments just to start something is a sin too.
I disagree...the clark sisters didn't have plastic surgery. Let's get that lie all together! These women look good, I've seen a whole lot of women their age wear a lot of make up and still look a hot mess. Give honor to where honor is do. Plus Shirley Caesar is the bomb and has always looked good!
Why are we so quick to "shout" off of the music? Let's "shout" off of the preached word of god...how about that? Times have just changed so much. There was a time when all you had to say was the name Jesus and the church would start shouting..but nnnoooooooooo, we need to be prompted and prodded. And who in the world created that "turn to your neighbor" crap! Shut up and preach the word!!! call me judas and maybe it's just me. But it's a distraction.
I think I can answer that in a few ways..SURGERY, LOTS OF WEAVE AND A TONS OF MAKE-UP! When Mattie was here, they seemed much more humble and really ministered. They "perform and entertain" a bit more now. They are still super talented, but I caution all of us fans to remember it's not about them, but it's about christ.
