FIRST LADIES of CONTEMPORARY GOSPEL MUSIC! Ahead of their time. They are such a blessing! Because, they were singing CONTEMPORARY GOSPEL SONGS BEFORE IT BECAME POPULAR. Their Mom, The iconic, talented, brilliant, legendary, and incomparable, Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, was the FIRST FEMALE Choir Director, who introduced CONTEMPORARY GOSPEL MUSIC to the Choir at her Church. Also, teaching music to her gifted daughters. The INCOMPARABLE, TWINKIE, is STILL my FAVORITE FEMALE ORGANIST, GOSPEL SONGWRITER, and VOCALIST. Because, back in the day, very few female organists could play like Twinkie! She's still tearing the organ up today! When they sang 'You Brought The Sunshine,' Twinkie, wrote the Lyric. When that song was released and played on the radio, in Churches, and yes, in the Clubs, (just keeping it reaI 🤗). I wasn't fully committed to God. My reaction was FINALLY, this song will wake the Church's up! And, It did. I fell in love with the song. So, I learned how to play it on the piano and organ. I couldn't wait to teach it to the Youth Choir. They LOVED IT! I danced to it, in the Clubs and then played and sang the gospel lyric version in Church. Needless to say, when ppl heard that song, wherever they were, everyone knew The Clark Sisters! The rest is history! To this day, they are still my FAVORITE female group! Thank you, Twinkie (and Stevie Wonder)! I became saved and dedicated my life to the Lord. And, became The Minister of Music. May God continue covering and blessing The Clark Sisters. 🎼🎹🛐🎤🎤🎤🎤🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
