The back rest on the back seat of my 69 bug doesn't seem to come out. The fabric of the seat is attached to a metal strip on the frame of the car. Any thoughts on how to get it out?
Putting it back in is almost impossible without some help. The weight of the seat and back are too heavy to lift and get back onto the rail. I have to take the back off. Then it took me two or three days to get the bolt and nut back on, on the tunnel side.
How about a video on how to put them back in, mine are ornery!!! It seems so simple, but all I get is frustrated. And yes, I have the right seats for the rails.
Im out of hope trying to find a tutorial on how to take out the lower seat springs on a 74 super beetle front seat, im trying tk restore em but i catn for the life of me get the old ones out

Whenever I get to the part where he takes the spring off, and then moves it again, I cant move it. I feel like I am hitting something and it just wont budge. I cant lift it, or anything.
@@crimegirldownunder4269ok so you need to soak them with some wd-40 or some penetrating oil. And then get a rubber mallet and tap the rear frame of the seat frame. Try not to dent the frame tho.
Hey by the way Chris. I was trying to pull the seats out of my 73 Super beetle. And It was a little bit different set up. And I couldn't figure out how to get it out. It would slide forword and stop.
Hey Chris I have a 71 standard and I have a pair of 62 low backs. I have read that you can't put the early front seats in a 71 standard. First is this true,and if so do you know a way to install them? thanks
Yeah no hey changed the rails in 71. You would have to change the rails on the floor pan to 70 and earlier. Or if you need new pans, get the earlier pans with those rails already on them.
How do you take them out of a 1975 beetle? I'm wanting to take them to get new leathers on them but i cannot get them out. Can someone help me please? Or point me to a video to show me how? I've tried everything on this video but its for bugs 3 years older. :( PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!
@hjkgufytfyug My 71 has the spring tab as well.I had the second person and it made things very easy.A warning though for the second person, if the seat is sticky it can come loose quite suddenly.My second person nearly got a finger mangled.
I know this seems like even a caveman can do it.....but how about a video on using the rear luggage space.....show the seat folding down.....the strap that keeps it in place.....the whole 9 yards.....i know I'm not the only guy that just found out about this option.....ill even PayPal you to do it lol
