Wow, I am so glad I found you! I have been away from ceramics for years. I used to teach at a local high school evening classes. I (was) a certified Duncan Ceramic Teacher. I am just now painting after many years. Thanks for "wetting my whistle" again!
Thankyou for this great video...my grandchildren who are visiting are going to have lots of fun. Just to clear up...after applying slip and designing is there a waiting period for the clay work to be bone dry before putting a clear glaze and firing to cone 6....how many days will the kids wait to see the magic? I am from India and we are having hot summer days/ rain. Thankyu and look forward to your reply!.
Hi Daniel , thank you so much for this video😍, I'm new in making clay pots, I have a question the glaze used for clay is acrylic or u kept mentioning it's slip. Can we get ready made paint or solo in Amazon? Plz mention the brand. I'm from India.
What I use in this video is Clay Paints. You can purchase them through Mid-South Ceramic Supply in the US. (www.midsouthceramics.com/product-category/the-clay-lady-way/the-clay-ladys-clay-paints/)
I have a friend that asked me to fire some terra cotta tiles for her. She used regular commercial underglazes ( I think). I have to fire them at cone 06 correct?
I've been painting with acrylics on Bisque. I'm at a point I want to antique the piece. Went to loyal studio and was told Duncan discontinued Bisque stain. How or any ideas how I can antique my pieces? (other than watering down my acrylic and wiping off. ) Back in the day (many years ago) I used stain and solvent to wipe off leaving antiqueing in the details.
