The clock is 'striking midnight' for Tesla and Elon Musk, analyst Dan Ives says 

Recently bought some recommended stocks and now they are just penny stocks. There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?

The Stock market is pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.

In the question of whether or not Tesla should pursue 100% focus on the robotaxi versus focus on the next generation vehicle, which is essentially the robotaxi with pedals and a steering wheel. The essential question to ask is not being asked here. Ultimately it's about how much each vehicle depending on the type of vehicle that is deployed into the world. How much revenue that vehicle can return on its initial investment?. In order to do that, a exercise to compare the costs for production and distribution and maintenance of each respective vehicle should be made. Then one should list out all of the associated costs and who would be responsible for paying them. Even before we begin, one should have a sense of what the Crux of the issue will be is to determine which of these strategies is more optimal for Tesla to pursue. For example, it's immediately obvious that if Tesla focuses on the robo taxis, there are two models that they can utilize to distribute them into the world. One is a self-distribution model where they essentially buy the vehicles from themselves or just essentially the same as amortizing the cost of the vehicle over time in its production runtime or they sell the vehicle to fleet operators who perform that maintenance on their behalf consuming those costs but at the cost of sharing the revenue with Tesla. The other model is rather than sharing with large-scale fleet operators. Tesla produces the pedals and Wheels version of the same vehicle and sells it to the consumer and then provides them with the option of leasing that vehicle into the robotaxi fleet

It was a pure ego trip to put the Tesla Semi and the Cybertruck top of his priority list instead of newer models. Imagine the wasted cap ex to put these into production. Robo taxis is one disaster away from lawsuits galore. What is he thinking? At this rate he will have to take deposits on future flamethrowers etc.

Throughout Tesla's history there have been uncountable naysayers, critics and complainers. They have all proven wrong sooner or later. The fact the we now have millions of desirable BEVs on the road and a reliable charging infrastructure because of Tesla is very easily forgotten. Tesla is best positioned to achieve autonomous cars, and sonner or later they will probably also deliver.

I enjoy driving. I still don't see how autonomous driving fills a market need.

i called it from the beginning, never gonna happen in this century! when the goal was driverless cars by 2025, then 2030, now if they spend 100 trillion worlwide on dedicated EV driverless highways/lanes with sensors in the road by 2050, still won't be sustainable or practical because a solar/wind grid won't be ready till the next century.
