Brilliant!!! Well done gentlemen. It reminds me of my grandad and his mates who would get together and play this fine music. My grandad played the banjo and being a bit biased here, he played it well. We all had a grand time.
Comes from a time when the pubs in Victorua state were open for only 2 hours in the day 4 to 6 pm was known as the swill hour and no drink on Sunday back in the 60's as I remember the Irish were inventive about this how they got around the restrictions.and Yes it was a closed shop especially 8f you were not Irish.. james an old seafarer who first went there in 62.
