this is a perfect example of why they should stay to their genres....although, i would say Jesse J would be an exception. I think she is versatile enough to be able to tackle a few genres.

I was just thinking that Jesse J always sounds the same in every gender she sings, so i'd say she is not that versatile. The more versatile here even though his voice is also very distinctive is Tom Jones.

Ignasi Martí Palet i will agree on your Jesse J, but not on Tom Jones. he sounds strained in some of the mixes he has done on this show. its not even the distinctive voice, his style has unique pausing, and styles, that doesnt mix in with other genres. but thats just my opinion. lol.

farkdanarc he is 70! And he doesn't sound strained. He was classicaly trained and sang from soul and blues, pop... he has sang with some of the greatest singers adapting really well to their styles.

Ignasi Martí Palet i wanted to weep for the man at 0:40 its terrible. 1:38 is when he was sounding great though. i will give him that. like i said, the timing in that genre isnt for him.

farkdanarc Why? It's not terrible at all. In fact Jesse is straining half of the high notes by rising her larynx. Tom just has a deeper voice than 30 years ago (obiously) so it needs more breath suport and he doesn't have the same stamina as when he was young. But he sings with an open larynx and doesn't strain.

Yeah... Only Jessie and Danny suited this song. Will is a producer and a rapper, his singing isn't the best... And Tom was good, but his voice was waaaay too strong and loud for this piece. As Jessie said, it's all about song choice. What happened to that good advice?

I actually really liked it. It's true that the song suited the Danny the best, he and Jessie were amazing. But I also loved how Tom kept his style and his voice is truly amazingly powerful. I guess most people aren't used to hearing his voice in this kind of song ;) And I think Will did really well for not being a singer. He really put his soul into it in the beginning

Will isnt just a rapper, he plays piano, guitar, cello, bass and he is probably one of the best out there to bring people together to create epic shit, he has this talent for seeing what works well together, its not his voice that is his best weapon, but with all his skills it doesnt have to be.

Will.I.am doesn't pretend to be a great singer. He's a rapper, writer, producer, etc but not a vocalist. I actually appreciate that he doesn't turn on autotune and pretend to be something he isn't.

I never thought I'd say this, but I think Will I am did better here. He didn't give the song too much of his "own style"; instead he kept simple. Sometimes less is more.
