*We followed "The Coastal Way" route for this video*

I do not believe that the beaches on this route shows off the best of what Wales has to offer which i think are situated further North and South of the official route.
The review and scoring of the route were based on not really straying from the official route and following the locations and stop offs recommended on the map created by the Welsh gov website.

Shame you missed out Barmouth Beach mate, great place with a wooden bridge going over the estuary and a unique wooden toll bridge to take you over to a great pub restaurant. Barmouth itself has lots to do too. Maybe try it if your in that area again 👍🏻

Did you not visit; 1. Mwnt 2. Porthgain 3. Panorama Walk above Barmouth on the Mwddach Estuary. and had you gone a bit further than St. Davids you have 1. Marloes Sands 2. Freshwater West 3. Broad Haven South 3. Barafundle Bay

We followed the route of the Coastal Way and to be fair i really dont think they showed off wales' best. The locations you mentioned are not even mentioned on their official things to do and see when on the route. They have a google maps with their "recommended" places to visit on it. We did visit Mwddach Estuary but didnt have time to go much further than drive it. I maybe should/could have been a bit more clear that we were following their recommendations on this route as well as the Cambrian way which we also shot a video on; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D8v0l2spnek.html

@@ChrisSloanes Wales does have plenty of gems but most of them require a bit of local knowledge and a walk. Barafundle Bay could be in the Caribbean but you can't get there by car alone.

For sandy beaches in Wales, you can't beat the Gower Peninsula on the south coast abd stunning scenery all along the Pembrokeshire coast.

Yeah we visited there separately off camera and it was very nice. Unfortunately it seems the Welsh tourist board have picked probably the worst stretch of coast in Wales to have their official Coastal Route which is what we followed. Right up north and right down south are where we found the best beaches but none of them are on the route.

Thanks mate im really trying to improve as much as possible. Made a mess of the Wales videos and really didnt shoot anywhere near enough content for various reasons and luckily the editing kinda saved them a tad. Our next trip is the Isle of Arran so hopefully that one will be a lot better and ideally longer too! That wind dried me quick, was fresh in that water haha. Funnily enough that clip took me bloody ages considering it turned out terrible haha. Thanks for the support though i appreciate it.

@Chris Sloanes You can see the effort you're putting in mate and looking at your channels rapid growth, so can a lot of other people. Plus, it's great to see a fellow North East lad doing well. 👍 Looking forward to the Arran trip. Went there a few years ago with family, but didn't get to see much of it. Haha well I thoroughly enjoyed the clip. Love all the extra little bits, like your face on the post box haha. Travel safe mate.

@@adiehull yeah it takes a lot of time shooting and editing even longer. This video alone took 16 hours or so to edit. The Cambrian way video was even longer but I love it and it’s what I want to make a career doing so gotta put in the time

Great couple of videos in the last week really enjoyed them. Most van channels on here are pretty similar however I really like your take on van life and filming makes a nice change 👍 Been passed yours the last two Fridays been looking to catch a glimpse of your new van 🤪. But nothing as yet. I actually think I just missed you this morning I was driving down our track as you were reversing out. Thanks mate, another coming up in another week or so. Have a trip to Isle of Arran on the cards. I try to make it as different as i can because i really struggle to watch other vanlife kinda channels as they bore me haha. I just make what i enjoy watching really. Yeah i think i saw you were down the lane as i was reversing round to take the kids to school. I dont have it yet and might not for another 2 month or so at this rate!

I reckon you could do the whole of the uk in 10 days 🤣🤣. We live in south wales and Pembrokeshire is a regular haunt(it does get rammed in summer, but probably not on the scale of Cornwall) The middle bit😉....yes we hardly ever stay there. One of the frustrating things I find is that there is so much coast line mid to north wales that has a railway line separating some interesting beaches and coastline from the road and it just makes it awkward if beaches and coastline are your thing (which they are for me).

at 1:09 you were so lucky to see that Shannon class lifeboat coming back to base in that drone shot and to have a retired lifeboat moored in the same harbour, Im very jealous. (Speaking as a member of the RNLI) 😀

Hmm mixed feelings over your video it was honest with what you saw but you needed to do more research as you missed a lot of fantastic places. Also get your timing right with tide you will see the sand.

I think people are misinterpreting my video as if i didn't visit the right beaches but i followed the "Coastal Way" route which is an official route and reviewed that exclusively. I know there are some beautiful beaches up north and down south but on this route i wasn't impressed.

I just felt that Wales Tourist board or whoever it was that had the final say on the "official route" kind of showed off Wales' worst coastal area as the day before we done this route we done down south and it was beautiful down there. Unbelievably beautiful.

We did, i just didnt get it on video. The northern part of the route was great, some beautiful beaches but pretty much the whole side down towards the south after Porthmadog way the beaches werent really beaches. Still completely changed my opinion on Wales though and we look forward to heading back hopefully with a lot more time to spare

@@ChrisSloanes Totally agree, after Rhyl, probably down to Colwyn Bay is as you pointed out, mainly pebbles. It always makes me wonder how people can sunbathe ( in that week or so it’s warm enough ) on these pebbles, it can’t be comfortable but they still go ahead and do it

@@ChrisSloanes they're actually ranked top 20 I think there's two Welch beaches on there... Take a look I'm not joking. Surfing climbing but it is dependent on the weather obviously.... The region you went maybe not so much
