Grew up about 30 minutes from where Cody grew up. When my dad was a musician in the 90s he played with Cody in Beaumont. He said “his covers weren’t very good but his originals were incredible.” Nowadays, his covers are incredible too. Incredible video bro! I love these documentary style biographies.
Cody was inducted into the Groveton Ex-Student’s Hall of Fsme. It was good to see clips of my video in this story! Surprised me that they actually gave me credit for the video! We in Groveton, Trinity Co. Texas proudly claim Cody as one of ours!
I found Cody on RU-vid and haven't looked back. My current favorite off of Leather is Make Me a Mop. But, really, I can't say that I don't like any of the songs he's written. And I love his version of Conway Twitty's I Don't Know a Thing About Love! I think he does it justice because having grown up on 'old' country it's hard for me to hear some remakes. To me, it goes to show that you don't need radio play to be a star!
Saw him for the 1st time in 2017 at small venue it Pittsburg PA with like 200 people and was an instant fan! I've seen him 4 times since and last summer in Youngstown OH with 20,000.
