😅 😢 Love this video but brought tears to my eyes watching Charlie bring out the '58 Les Paul Tuxedo, triple pickup "Mick"..... my awesome husband's guitar. So happy it ended up in Charlie's hands!
I feel like bonamassa isn’t that bad about it, I yours and appreciates almost all the good stuff unless it just toooo rare! Dave amato is the episode that really hurt!
My favourite "Collection" episode so far, incredible collection of guitars with some amazing stories behind them. Blackberry Smoke are a real favourite of mine and Charlie Starr is a brilliant guitarist, singer and songwriter and he knows how to buy special guitars and obviously loves 'em !!, many thanks to Mark and Gibson for having Charlie on 👍🎸😄
The best guitar show on the internet, yet to make a bad episode, I’ve been watching Mark since guitar of the day, to see where he’s at now is nothing short of incredible and a true testament to sticking with your passion no matter what. Truly awesome!!
Charlie needs to tell everyone about his secret weapon, the rugs!!! The Afghan rugs are the trick to center your mind and feel relaxed while playing somewhere, they give an aura of familiarity to every gig no matter where.
@@jonathansteadman7935 not sure if it is a southern rock thing. My dad is doing that since the early 90s (including some living room lamps) and he's never been a Southern rock guy, much more influenced by the grunge scene. I think might just be a 90s thing 😂
Wow….just wow. I love that Charlie is the guy with these great guitars because he plays them so damn hard and so incredibly well and we get to hear them do what they are supposed to do.
It's really cool to see how these dudes will happily show other brand classics in these documentaries. They got their priorities right and this content will age like fine wine.
That was the BEST 90 minutes I've ever spent on RU-vid!! Seen Charlie a bunch...spent some time with him a couple times...he's just one of the nicest, friendliest guitar masters in the world!! And his momma, Tanila, is an ANGEL!! She is SOOO proud of her boy...and rightly so!! Good people, y'all!!
Best episode so far! Charlie Starr, the guy that actually knows where his guitars came from and one of the best Gibson players out there! Still waiting for that Gibson Signature Series Charlie Starr model...btw
Definitely the best episode yet. A fine collection of guitars that are used to make great music. It was great to hear Rick Richard’s get a shout out. One of my all time guitar hero’s,also hearing the story of the haggis guitar was so good. I didn’t know the full story till now. I wish I could have had another couple of hours of hearing the guitars being played.
I play bass, but also love guitars. I’ve seen every episode. This one’s the greatest thus far! I guess it’s about 50% because of this player and story teller I never heared of before watching this video. Thank you, man. I’ll be checking out your music! 🖖
ABSOLUTELY loved this episode! Charlie Starr is such an awesome person and musician! Love that he actually plays these and they are not sitting in a case locked away. When will we see a Charlie Starr signature Jr?
HAPPY THANKSGIVING IM THANKFUL FOR GIBSON GUITARS AND MY LES PAUL WHO I NAMED "REBECCA" HER AND I HAVE TRAVELED THE WORLD TOGETHER. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!!
Oohh man....this is what it's all about! The first part where Charlie talks about his dad...pheeww! All good from there on! What's not to love! Big love from Sweden! 🇸🇪
What a freak out. Not a geek out as I'm not a guitar geek at all. Just a huge fan of Blackberry Smoke. This was unbelievable. A masterclass with Charlie and Mark. This interview blew me away. The filming so up close showing the guitars as if I could hold them. Charlie is the real deal. Thanks to the Instagram clip that mentioned "The Collection" interview. Thank you so so much for this. Words fail me. Best geek guitar interview I've seen with Charlie. Merci and see you in Paris and Brussels in Sept. 2024!
Great episode featuring one of the best southern rock guitarists of recent years. Wonderful collection of guitars that stand the test of time without a problem!!!! 👉🎸👈
The knowledge that Mark has is insane. Great guitar players and collections, and always complimented by an incredible knowledge of guitars and guitar history by Mark. Props 👍
I have a 1952 All Gold Les Paul. I bought it 8 years ago for a song. It had a headstock repair which is why I could afford it. I tried for years to get next to the tiny frets and original tuners. I finally bit the bullet and re fretted it and put rerpo tuners on it. BEST THING I EVER DID! Play them! Thats why we have them
By watching these videos, you can tell Gibson values the history of guitar regardless of brand. Very happy to see Fender, Martin guitars being shown in this video.
Best band out there these days! I saw that acoustic tour city winery NYC. So close I coulda spit on em. I was so hammered after the concert I hailed a cab and stepped into it while it was still moving ON PURPOSE. Great stunt really got a reaction it put me on my ass. He gave me a ride still
Not gonna lie and act like I'm a huge fan of Charlie's (I've actually never even heard any of his band's songs, embarassingly enough) but I was hooked for this entire episode. Awesome collection and he seems like a great, down to earth guy! Love to see it! Kudos to the Gibson crew! This series is a must watch every time! Gonna have to go check out some of his tunes now
Wouldn't normally watch one of these all the way through, but Charlie is such a great dude and obviously loves his tools. I feel the same way about mine, although a 67 Strat and 72 Les Paul Goldtop Deluxe are my two oldest.
I love Blackberry Smoke and Charlie. I enjoy his chats about guitars almost as much as the music. I have my tickets for the next show in Boston. Thank you Mark and Gibson for these great videos.
great interview, had a very fun, laidback vibe. I sure liked his stories: y'all, birdshit in the f-hole, hillbillies and jazz cats, the bequeathed LP custom, and the Haggis #2
Awesome episode. Great song writer, great guitar player and for those fortunate enough to meet/know him, a great dude. In fact, the entire band are great people. #SpreadTheSmoke
Every interview I see of Charlie Starr He seems like the nicest man ever and he loves music. I'm out of big gibson junior guy but His juniors look So Cool. And I love all the stories and the last guitar is just epic I do love telecasters myself.
Epic episode! I'll be honest I've never listened to Black Cherry Smoke but this guy is so cool I'm gonna go listen to their stuff, I'm sure I'll dig it! What a killer guitar collection!
Charlie's the man. The 1st time I heard him play an open G Keef style riff. I knew he was a real Rock n Roller. Then when you hear his leads.... hes Not fuckin around
I always feel compelled to reply to comments like this. I'm sorry, but they drive me nuts. The title of these episodes isn't "Charlie's (or whomever elses) GIBSON collection, it's about his GUITAR collection. Mark came from Norman's and knows a lot about a lot of guitars. There's nothing benevolent about these shows.
Shows that the very best guitars are the ones that are played and loved. I’ve had 2 “museum” quality guitars- neither sounded good. I have 25 vintage guitars and would not give up any of them. Just takes years to find them- especially these days!
