I was 14 yrs. old when The Iranian Hostage Crisis occurred. Later, I joined the US Army & served proudly for 22 yrs. Needless to say, my attitude towards Iran wasn't the greatest. When I saw this movie (around the mid-90s), I realized that, when all is said & done, we are all one & the same under God.
The saddest thing we can do is equate beautiful people with their horrible leaders. I appreciate you for the change in opinion, and may God bless you friend!
My teachers say that God loves the blind more beacuase they can't see but I told him if it was so, he would not make us blind.. That line just got me and I just can't stop my tears. A movie which is full of emotions and I think every human on earth should watch this beautiful movie.
He wasn't the only blind person. Unfortunately his father was blind to his son's attachment to his family & community with disastrous results. Such a moving film
On some level he knows he has an obligation to protect his son but feels powerless to do it. That to me is part of the brilliance of the film. He is a flawed, but not necessarily bad-willed person.
Persian cinematography is brilliant. It does not need any special effects and no unnecessary add ons. This movie is simply amazing among many other movies Majid Majidi has created! Keep rewatching and learning something new every single time. Actors play their roles from their hearts and souls and the producers always know how to capture it. It is colorful yet so deep. I salute every one of you for delivering us emotions and simply, giving meaning from the other side of the screen. What an art.
I salute Majid Majidi for giving us this wonderful film.It is more than 1000 Oscars. I wish your long life Mr Majidi. I rediscover Iran after watching his three films- Colour of Paradise, Children of Heaven and Song of the Sparrows. Iran is green. It did not show anything on typical religious.matter. It is the earthly human relation that matters much.
I am from Chennai-India saw this gem just now and couldnt stop crying....The soul is shattering with sheer compassion at every turn of this movie....Majid Majidi a true master... If some one asks me what good you did with this life i can answer them "I have watched color of paradise"...
@@balajisg2742 true. Hard to explain the emotions that come while watching this movie....i want to write so much but....this movie goes deep in the heart.
I've heard that part of this scene and dialogue was improvised. I believe it was in an interview I watched a while ago. The young actor spoke his mind and cried for real.
No matter how sad the scenes prior to the first scene of this compilation, nothing prepares you for the child's monologue. Hits you harder than any boxers left hook. And yes, it was no less deserving than Benigni's "Life is Beautiful" an equally good film. Woody Allen's comments about subjectivity of awards come to mind. I too believe that there should not be any awards for performing arts. Your interpretation of best among a bunch of movies could be different from mine. To proclaim one film as being better than the other just serves to construct an inordinate legend of the film makers and associated actors which kills any chance of competitors having a level playing field when it comes to showing their next films. Remember, in the absence of digital platforms like late 2010s meant films were seen on the big screen - and there are only so many big screens.
@@musarathussain8226 'A Seperation' won an Oscar. Also by an Iranian Muslim. You can't say it bias. It was up against 'Life is Beautiful' which was very popular and more widely known.
By far, one of the most poignant movies with incredible script and acting. My love and understanding to all sons ( and daughters) who are betrayed by their fathers.
Thank you for uploading these two beautiful scenes. From beginning to end, this movie is full of unconditional love (Blind School Teacher, grandmother, sisters, blind carpenter, etc) and insight, such as these two scenes.
you should have added another scene where Mohammed corrects when one boy uses incorrect words in his village school... It also deserve for a best scene. Good Work by majidi... I feel Children of Heaven, the BEST of his films
please tell me where can I download or buy DVD for this movie.. I watched it once on Kuwaiti TV many years ago and really fell in love with Majid Majidi's works.. awesome..
@@ibrahimboral1361 true....so much grief to such an innocent child. God should give him all the happiness in the world. Can't bear to see him crying 😭😭😭😭
